That's actually a wonderful way. the loop will prevent the annoying frays and get stuck in the threads.

Did you torch the ekowool or is this out of the bag?

I gave it a light torch as regular silica as a habit. Have been building it that way for a couple weeks now and it seems to work great.

Pardon my ignorance guys, I am waiting for my first kayfun to arrive, but where does a newbie learn how to choose which wire/wick combos to use? I mean the thickness of the wire and the thickness of the wick. Does the number of times you wrap a wire around the wick affect resistance? How many times do you wrap the wire, 3, 4, 5, 7? Thanks!

Yes the# of times you wrap wire makes a difference the longer the wire the higher the resistance.Thicker wire such as 28ga is for low resistance, good for mechanical mods hard to get high out of that need many coils to do so.The thinner the wire such as 36 is high. Most use 30-32 wire with VV/VW works great for me easy to get close enough with wraps.#2 eco wool works good with kayfun3.1 you can also use thicker or thinner and use less or more.I do like the eco works great very good wicking not much fraying.I have silica that I also like it does fray more though. Now I did get some #3 eco that I just put in one of my spheroids witch you would usualy use a smaller diameter wick in and fold it over a couple times.I took the #3 eco no folds wrapped wire and it is working great.

HOLY .....!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't have any plastic bottles since none came with my 2 kayfuns. I was desperate to use it anyway. I filled it up, while holding the air hole shut. I screwed the top chamber 75% of the way with the drip tip covered as well. In one awkward motion, I screwed in the top chamber shut while flipping the kayfun upside down and letting go of the air hole.

It worked! I tried vaping and wow..................... WOW.

No more genesis atties for me. I'm done. I'm so glad I bought two on a hunch.

Hahaha I ordered April 20th bud and still don't have it. Your just going to have to sit back and chill my friend lol

I guess there was a reason Svoemesto posted on his site about Russian Post.
Thanks for letting me know to expect a long wait. Hopefully you will receive yours soon.

I saw the review for the Taifun. Kept wondering if you can take apart the base.

I think the kayfun is better designed because you draw juice up to the wicks rather than down, which will make it less likely to food or leak. How the performance compares, I don't know.

Taifun GT - YouTube. This one shows the breakdown at around 3:12. The base doesn't look like it comes apart (user serviceable) like the Kayfun would. I wish I understood German, since Phil's review is the only one I come across in English.
Is Taifun GT a clone of Kayfun 3.1 ES?

Any word on the semovar? I see people with them on Facebook but haven't seen them in any of the stores.

I've also gone back to regulated voltage on the provari. I'll try mechanical when I get 28g wire and 2mm ekowool, wicking just isn't up to par for me. I was using a 3 wrap of 30g wire, and now I'm using a 6 wrap of 30g wire at 5.2 volts. Its a shame the provari isnt 22mm.

Has anyone compared the Kayfun 3.1 to the Taifun GT and if so how do they compare?

As far as setting up, Kayfun 3.1 es & Taifun GT are easier to set up than the Ithaka. Vapor production & flavor will depend on how you wrap your coils, size of the wire, & silica size used. Its hard to compare attys since everyone has their own prefered set up. Still playing with all my set up to try out new things.

When used w/ the same set up (wire, silica, wrap), IMO, the Taifun GT & Kayfun 3.1 es are similar. My initial set up on the Taifun GT (4/3 wrap, 32ga, 2mm silica (3 silica in each hole)) had leaking issues because I cut the silica too short. Redone the coils using previous set up and doing 4 silica instead of the 3 silica in each hole and it stopped the leaking issue.

The Taifun GT & Kayfun 3.1 es are very similar, but if I really need to pick one, I give the Taifun GT an edge over the Kayfun 3.1 es just because of the occasional drips or leaks I get from the Kayfun 3.1 es air hole & fill valve.

Man, I have one that is just giving me grief. I have 2 3.1s and a mini. I recoiled everything on Saturday. One of my 3.1s was great right off the bat. Same with my mini. But one of my 3.1 keeps giving me dry hits. I have to cover the airhole after every 10 hits or so, sharp inhale to get more liquid into the chamber and then I'm fine again for a while.

I coild them just like in the promo video. I started using a pin in the coil while I wrap so it's not to tight and I can slide the ekowool (2mm) I'm using through it to shorten the loops. I'm using a 4 wrap of 30g kanthal, and ending up with a 1.5 ohm coil. Which is exactly where I want it. Any advice? I've tried pushing the loops down after I screw the base of the chamber on, empty it out, lift them up a bit. But honestly I'm stumped.
