Svoë Mesto Kayfun III ES Discussion/Questions

Perhaps there is a pressurization issue, but from my limited knowledge, if it gurgles, there is an issue with the way it is filled.

My 3.1 ES gurgled (but did not leak) every time I tried filling it from the top cap, and the collector tank had a pretty good amount of juice in it. Once I started filling it upside down through the valve, no gurgling and the collector tank is dry.

If filling it from the top cap, I think it is not enough to close the air hole, the chimney's pipe needs to be plugged too. The reason I think this is because of this video. It is in German, but I think it is self-explanatory. Fast forward to 16 minutes 45 second to see how he fills the mini from the top.

I fill it with the plastic tips with the drip tip pointing down, and I do it slowly, so I dont think its a filling issue. At first i thought I may have been stuffing too much wick in there but today I'm using 1mm ekowool x2, with the tails not too long. The build looks textbook but still some leaking.

This thing has me stumped.

I really want to place an order for either a 3.1, or a mini, but have never ordered from overseas. How does DHL handle the duties and customs? Is there anything that I will need to do, other than place the order, and then try to be patient until it arrives?

I have never ordered anything outside U.S.A., too, but I have placed two orders, one from Russia and one from UK and did not have any issues. You would not need to do anything. You just place the order and wait until it is delivered to your door. And as far as I know, it is not DHL. Inside U.S., it delivered VIA Post Office.

what are you folks wrapping your kayfuns with

right now im doing 1mm eko wool x 3 , 5 wraps and im ohming out at 1.4ohm

still burning juice on my poldiac on a fresh batt

any other setup suggestions ?

I am doing 5 wraps, 32 Kanthal (twisted), 3 or 2.5mm Ekowool, which gives me 2.2/2.5 ohm.

If I remember correctly, you said earlier that it leaks from the air hole. Is the screw in there kind of loose? If it is, maybe try to find another screw with a tighter fit and see if that makes a difference.

In addition, in this video, do not remember where, but at some point he says that the air control screw on his 3.1 ES is kind of loose and does not always stay in place. He said that he used teflon tape, which, according to him, is also used on the Zen ati for insulation, and after putting it on the screw, it sealed the thread tight and the air flow screw does not move easily anymore.

I would also check to see that you have every O-ring in place. Someone had a similar problem as you and found he was missing an O-ring causing it to leak.

Yep they often have them even if online store says out of stock

Actually its kind of weird. A couple times, I had it leak when the tank was 80% full and it leaked until I vaped it dry. On a different occassion, it was fine when i built it but then the leaking would start when the tank got to half empty. A couple of days ago, I set it up, worked fine, no leak. But then I thought the draw was too tight so i unscrewed the airflow screw by half a turn. Started leaking. In all cases, it was a slow, steady leak. This latest build, i tried to get everything right, from the length of the wick to how much juice I put in to how I filled it. Stood it up and 10 min later, i could see the airflow screw hole was full of liquid. A very slow leak, but a leak nevertheless. Now, i've got 10% liquid in the tank and its not leaking. So I don't get it. Seems very intermittent and unpredicatable.

I'm going to try changing out the o ring in the top cap and see what happens. If that still doesn't work, i dont know what else to try

From another member suggestion I followed the instructions on that video and no leaks what's so ever just got mine last night and love this Tank.BTW does anyone recommend Noalox on the threads of the Tank????

Hey all! I have a Kayfun 3.1 alpha and my pluid makes the I rings expand and I cannot get the small o ring back in the top cap. Would anyone know what size that o ring is so I can pick up some at Home Depot or something's? It's the cap with the small whole in the middle where the o ring goes and it's also the cap where the mouth piece goes in to.

BTW does anyone recommend Noalox on the threads of the Tank????

Noalox is usually used for aluminum connectors. Kayfun's body is stainless steal, but in any case, I do not think it is a good idea. Even if you are very careful, there is a possibility of it getting into your juice.
