I have read here some mixed things about adding sweeteners to my juice- seems most use EM or a sucrolose solution. Some say yea- makes for a better, sweeter vape; others say nay dampens flavors. What say you?

Also, does the flavor dampening occur over time? If I were to mix a large batch of my flavors, if I add sweeteners, should I wait to add sweeteners or add them when initially mixing?

Thanks for the help.

I bought a bottle of sweetener a long time ago. Haven't had to use any of it. So far, everything I've made has been sweet enough without it.

You could always do that, try your mixes, then decide. I personally wouldn't make a large batch, sweeten it, THEN taste it.

There are also certain flavorings I've used to help. FlavourArt Meringue flavor is really sweet. I only use it at 0.5% and it's VERY sweet, mellows in a couple days and becomes perfect.

Some flavorings are simply sweet enough. EM used too high, over 1% can certainly kill a mix, from everything I've read.

Good luck!

Ethyl maltol crystals are a great sweetener when used in discretion, but a serious pain to dissolve. I usually keep a pre-dissolved bottle of EM & VG around at a known concentration for mixing. Keep in mind, most sweeteners also change the overall flavoring of mixes and some alteration of flavor % is usually required

I say yea, for those that need it.

I also dilute my sweetener 1:9 before use because it's darn easy to use too much. It's amazing what a single drop of the diluted sweetener can do and amazingly bad what a drop of undiluted sweetener can do.
That's a great idea.I have used ezsweets in a few recipes and even at 1% it is potent,so cutting it down may be just what it needs.

Also,i have noticed that sweetener tends to gunk up wicks and coils pretty fast. One juice i make,i make 2 versions of it,1 with sweetener and 1 without. The 1 with it will have my wicks and coils nasty by the end of 2 tanks, about 8ml total, where as the one without i can go through alot more and not get the gunk.

I tried EM first, and that was okay. I didn't think it muted flavor so much, but it does change it. I got liquid Stevia this last time, and I like that a lot better. It doesn't have the same effect as EM, and it tastes sweeter. I found juices with EM needed steeping where Stevia juices are shake and vape and don't seem to clog the wicks.
