I am a relatively new vaper and have been able to quickly move up through devices from an ego-t to provari to a GGTS. (It's in the mail!) I have been vaping on a provari with the ody with stellar results and am very happy with my current setup.

So here's the thing, I am pretty good at making up coils for my Ody, but I have to admit it is not a science. I eyeball it, check the ohms, and adjust the voltage to suit.

I hope to use my GGTS in full mech mode before I invest in a kick (or until of VIR comes out of course...) The plan is to shoot for ~1.25-1.75 ohm coils for vaping at 3.7v. (My comfort zone is around 9W) I'm a bit worried that this will be a bit harsh for the first part of a fresh battery, but will moderate as it wears down...

So any of the veterans have any suggestions on making the switch from VV to the GGTS? (Or any suggested threads?)

Thanks in advance.

The main difference you'll need to get used to Nathan is that till now you were adjusting the voltage to suite the resistance. Now you'll tailor the resistance to suit the voltage. If you start with a 1.5 ohm coil at 3.7 after you run it in for 3-4 days or so and the resistance increases slap on 2 LiFePO 3.v for 6v vapeing and sit back and enjoy:toast:

Thanks for that CaptSteve. I'm going to have to get better at measuing out my coils with a multi-meter.

I was wondering about the resistance increase as well. With my provari I can so quickly check and adjust for the variation in resistance. I had a "short" period where my resistance was fluctuating wildly (I know, I know I probably had a short...) But I was able to accommodate this by just adjusting the voltage. I finally got fed up and ripped it all out and made a new coil. I was conserving wick...

When you switch to 6V do you just open the juice control all the way? Any air flow adjustments needed?

Thank you both.

I've tried the 0.9-1.2 ohm coils and really like it, but I find myself gravitating toward 3.4-3.5 V. Would blow my head off with a fresh, unregulated battery!

I am vaping super thick 100% VG juice at the moment, so I am making big adjustments with juice control. I'll have to try the 6V trick with something a little thinner...

Thanks for the advice guys.
