The pin has a head on it like a nail and the head can't go passed the plastic insulator base. And the base has a lip on it too and it too can't go inside either.
Aha! That makes sense now. I'm sure at some point I'll take it apart. Because... well... I take things apart :)

I like the idea of the seal too. Maybe something like SEAL ALL

I've used it on other stuff.

Ya I wish mine were sticking out so I could seal them, I'd use something other than silicone though so I didn't have to wait so long for the smell to go away.

There's a tutorial elsewhere online with lots of pics , if you google the phrase below you will find it:
Tutorial - Sealing Connection Pin SXK BB USB Version

I was happy to pull my covers off because I was inquisitive to have a look inside and make sure it actually had a DNA60 in it, and I wanted to check out the build quality... If you're not game to take the covers off you "may" be able to lift the pin insulator up enough to seal it with a pin/needle or tiny screwdriver poked under the edge of the insulator, then put sealant around it and poke it back down...

My insulator was a loose fit but the positive pin was firmly stuck in the insulator and I didn't want to risk breaking it trying to force it out to seal it, I suspect the pin was melted into the insulator when the wire was soldered on, so I put sealant around the insulator then poked it back into the housing, and then put a bit of sealant around the bottom of the pin where the wire connects just in case juice managed to go between the pin and insulator, I don't think that was really necessary because the pin was so firm in the insulator, but I'd like to get many years use out of it... (others may be different)

also, I like silicon sealant because if you ever need to get it apart it breaks away quite easy, unlike most other glues and such... You can get "natural cure" silicons that don't stink...

Talk of condensation related to the key always amazes me. While it's possible for the top o-ring of the box to leak I don't think I could get the key to leak if my life depended on it. When the wetness creeps up the back side of the box it certainly look like it came from the top but it came from the bottom.
It's probably to do with the insulating property of the JMK tips as opposed to the standard.

I'm not getting notifications for some reason hence the late response.

I was looking at them today but decided not to pre-order yet...i'm on a list somewhere :)

I ordered a few silver plates, gold condensation plug and several sunken buttons :)

The word is on the pretests that the new boxxer is completely bone dry....it looks amazing :)

That is magnificent.

Overnight my gold one developed a strange autofire issue. Started just ghost firing all by itself after not having been touched in several hours. None of the buttons worked and it eventually just fired constantly until I yanked the battery and then immediately started firing as soon as I put it back in.

It may be too early to be sure, but I think I figured it out and got it fixed. There was some tough to see mystery crust between the solder terminals for the fire button assembly on the underside of the pcb.

I used some contact cleaner and a pair of ceramic tweezers to get that out of there and it's working fine now. We'll see if it lasts. I guess it could have been, but it didn't seem like dried juice. Kinda clear white waxy and crusty. I don't know if solder flux is conductive or not. I would think not.

That is magnificent.

It's certainly less daunting when you can see photos of what's inside before you dive in...

Is your one a SXK or a DNA? ... Apparently the SXK boards aren't sealed with lacquer so it takes very little moisture to stuff them up and/or kill them, which is why it's quite important to seal the pin and manage the condensation....

The DNA60 board is coated in lacquer and seems to handle moisture a lot better, it seems rare for them to die... This was a big part of the reason I paid extra for the DNA version, I figured the extra $40 up front will save me having to spend $60 for a replacement DNA board from Evolve later if/when the SXK fails, lol

Both of mine are the DNA version.

NOW I've done it though. I broke the tactile firing switch on the one I've been working on LOL! I'll have to find another one.

That pic isn't actually of mine though btw.

The Vaporist in Canada has them. Not cheap, the switch is $10 and shipping is showing almost $14 to me,but they are the only place i've seen them. They have the up/down board also.

Thanks :)
Since SXK was so good to me last time, I'm going to see what they say this time first. I also sent a pic to digikey. I may wind up having to go that route though.

I'm gonna try Susaz' microfibre cloth and a version of your sausage.

Oink oink, I'm roaming around your neck of the woods at the moment... I'm surprised how many vapers I've seen around the city, mainly old 510 cigalike and ego type devices which seems odd considering how much better gear is around these days, I guess most people don't know any better:

Oink to you too Flick. In Sydney city most people you see vaping seem to be desperately trying to inhale their nic before the boss notices they aren't glued to their screens. They use whatever they can that'll fit in their suit pockets. Don't blame them. I agree it's weird that contemporary pod systems haven't caught on among the City brigade yet. I work in a different world - people can vape at work with MTL or clouds as long as they show respect.

The opposite way today:
Welcome to Barangaroo

I'm from Tasmania and I hate big cities and crowds, but Sydney amuses me for some reason, people-watching here is kinda fun....

I might head to Manly on the ferry tomorrow ;)

You're talking Balmain Bugs. There are plenty of harborside jetties here Charlie. You might be thinking of Doyle's at Watson's Bay. Great seafood, great scenery

Gonna be bright and sunny and mild tomorrow. I'm so jealous. If you're lucky you'll get a decent swell as you pass the heads on the ferry - best day trip and so cheap

This appeared in the 3Fvape spam today:
Buy SXK Insider V2 RBA Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer for SXK BB/Bantam
$14.99 for a V2 Insider which has different size airflow inserts and chimneys for MTL... I wonder if they've churned this out fast to tempt the people that are hanging out for a Xeta clone, lol:

Edit: How do you think it will be for tight MTL compared to the Crossbow? ...

I like the look of the tiny chimney, I'm tempted to grab one, and some clear panels for $14.99, lol, when will this end !
