Here is one of my SXK BBs with Aspire Triton coil, Kanthal coil.

@35 watts and #2 boost.
Here I'm using the Kanthal with preheat CSV.

I sill need to learn how to use device manager better.

Also, you might know. Do you have a rundown on how preheat works. I was thinking it boosts as a percentage of selected wattage. Just a guess.

EDIT: "device monitor" I meant. Anybody tell I've been working on Windows machines too long?

Wattage, percent of set temp and duration.

I tried TC a while back. Using a single SS wire coil. It ended up using about 14W to get to the temp I set. The preheat defaulted to 60W and instantly fried the coil. I killed 3 coils before I figured it out. That was using a Pico before I downloaded the control software.

Are you talking about with the Billet Box? Or is that the only time you've tried TC?

I tried TC on a Pico and a Jac, but didn't get into it. Haven't done it for a while. Never tried it on the BB. The Jac has an evolve chip but the 510 is dodgy so it didn't read the resistance well enough to work. Maybe I'll give it a shot on the BB, still got some SS wire lying around.

Xeta question. I got some plugs for the Boro tank but they won't fit over the plastic nut that screws onto the bottom of the Xeta. I took the nut off and it seems to be running fine. As far as I can see the nut doesn't have any essential function, except maybe to pull the Xeta down when you install it.

Same thing with the Kanger, that has a small plastic ring that supposedly controls the airflow.

Do you see any problem with taking those things off?

I don't run them on any of mine, and no issues at all.I think all they are for is some sort of airflow restrictor so i don't bother with using them.

Actually, now that i think about it,i don't even remember any of my Xeta's even having a nut on them,i could be wrong, but i definitely don't remember seeing any.

My Xeta had a nut but you couldn't use it adjust the airflow. You have to tighten it up all the way for the 510 to stick out of the bottom. It's good for installing though. It pulls the insert down tight to the bottom of the Boro. Though I guess the top nut does the job too by pushing it down.

The plugs I got come in four styles. Wide open, restricted, MTL and tight MTL. I got restricted. Not sure it matters since the Xeta comes with inserts for airflow anyway.

When I install the Xeta in the boro I just press the top end of the xeta against something solid like the side of a table to force it to the bottom of the boro, if you just rely on the 510 nut/key to push it down sometimes they dont seat down onto the o-ring all the way and they leak...

Think I'll follow that advice. So far I've only installed the Xeta 3 times. I suspect the plastic nut on the bottom works to pull the insert down, when you tighten it up the last bit you can see juice squirt out from underneath where it sits on the bottom of the Boro. But it takes some force and the plastic nut might not hold up too long.

While I've been waiting on a certain Dragons BB to arrive from Canada and buying buttons/doors/tips/screws/bridges/etc, I wanted to tell you guys that I've soaked up this entire thread and have learned quite a bit.

Thank you.

I've been working my way through this thread for months now, a few pages at a time. Cutting and pasting interesting bits into a word file. I'm up around page 100. I started reading new posts as well so I might not have too far to go.

With the BB you can't see the screen without taking the cover off. Last week I hadn't checked on the battery level for a while, when I did take a look it was all the way down. On the charger it showed 2.9V which is way lower than I normally let them go. I can't remember clearly but I think I checked it because I was getting a weak vape. With my other mods I see the battery level every time I pick them up and change the battery before they get to the bottom of the bar. Now I'm checking the level on the BB's regularly.

What should the cutoff be on a BB with Evolv chip? Doesn't seem right to me.
