Little update here. I found already that the True isn't as forgiving as the doggy. Was absolutely in love with the
vape on this last night, but this morning, I was greeted with this- the same issue I had with the Dvarw:
My first thought was that I'd just trash it and go back to the dog, but I cleaned it up and inspected it, took a couple more hits, and figured it was
really worth seeing what I did wrong. The vape is just too good to give up that easy.
I know I threw it together hurriedly and pretty sloppy, which never mattered on the dog. Wick was a little long, and I tucked it under the deck. This is very similar to the doggy, but has a ridge around the base of the deck, making it kind of recessed. Maybe this slight overhang of wick causes issues, or maybe I just didn't tighten the tank enough after being used to barely securing the doggy. Not sure what'd cause this just yet.
You can see how much I have tucked under in this pic.
Anyway, I checked the instructions, and saw in the Naturevape video that they recommend a shorter wick (just to the bottom of the channel), so I'm going to try that. Hopefully it won't require too much trimming, fiddling, and precision to be worth it. I'm willing to be a little more patient than with my doggy, because this really is the best, most dense, flavorful hit I've ever had, with the required throat hit. I suspect with all that flavor and throat hit, it may go thru more juice than the doggy (even if it doesn't leak), but obviously to early to tell.
A couple of notes: If you use the screws to trap the coil, you
will have to bend them like in his video, because they stick straight outward when you trim, and it'll interfere with the threading, and potentially cause a short. If you're one that does use the afc on the doggy, you'll really like that this one has stops on it. I really like this drip tip, but would prefer something non-clear - if you use NET like me, you'll be cleaning it a lot. I'm really hoping this was just one-off user error, because I really like this thing.
