I ordered the 2018 one from FT so you won't be hearing my observations soon, at least unless I am lucky. I got two doggies in rotation and about to build a third. I got a grub screw back in my deck WITHOUT a magnetic screwdriver tho. I had to stop, I only have so much good "building time" but I am QUITE pleased with my progress. LOL it will probably be built by the end of the weekend. I'm being realistic.

Only thing I do not like about my doggie is they are so unthirsty I'm like rewicking them all the time and yes, I have lifted my coil off the deck and yes I use rayon. I think it just is what it is with this atomizer. But, flavor machines so I don't worry too much.

Anna
I really waiting your review. You are one of my fav and logical bloggers. Thx

I've yet to find something they don't work well on, but agree, they do go quite nicely on a Pico.

There's a saying up here in the states, which I'll paraphrase here:
THEM dawgs'll hunt!

The drip tip colors tell me what flavor is in there, so don't nobody say NUTTIN'. ;)

Left to right, what are the second and fourth mods
Leave it to a Kween to name her Dicodes after a.Blue Bloods character (who also happens to be married to a spokesperson for Blu).

;)

I was going to name mine Blue Balls, but...
?

I'm still here on ECF... sort of. ;)

Think I've read enough to cross the 2k18 off my list. Pretty much what I expected when I saw the deck and design.

As for rewicking the 2k16...I need to do it everyday (so after a tank's worth of liquid). But, I vape a NET that just destroys any wick/coil. But, there are so many factors....juice, personal tolerance, airflow, wattage, amount of wick, coil type. It is what it is... :)

Question for you Doggy 2K18 peeps... I don't have the SXK version, I have the AniModz one but assume they are similar..

I decided to toss a build on it today and try it out... Build went on fine but was a minor pain as all I have at the moment it 26 gauge Kanthal. Kinda thick but after some fussing got it under the posts... Did a 2mm ID wrap that came out to .6ohm.

Now my question.. I am having a hard time getting this thing wicked. 1st try was to much cotton, 2nd try was the same, still too much... 3rd try, not enough...

How much cotton are you all using in the 2K18? I can't get it right for the life of me.. I assume the wick legs get tucked into the well at the base of the deck but might try just leaving them touching the deck but not tucked in....

This as to be one of the finicky RTA's I've ever used....

Next time I have it apart I'll snap some photos of the build..

I use 26g kanthal too but I use Rayon in mine. My guess is that you might have to go to a larger diameter coil to get enough wick down the sides.

My 1st go at it was a 2.5 but I'll try with it again. I'll try a 2.5 id one last time before I scrap this thing.. Just took a hit on it and yowza, I about coughed up a lung from the dry hit...

Just rebuilt it again, this time I used a 3mm id Clapton I already had laying around for my use in my SQuape...

Tossing in the towel as I am not interested in fighting this thing....

In almost 10-years of vaping, I've never had this much trouble trying to get an atty to wick...

I surrender! But here are a few photos of the 3mm build I just did. Same result.. No wicking!

That's a lot more coil and cotton than I use on the SXK. I usually use much thinner wire and a 2.5 ID. I don't have a photo handy but I use an amount similar to the photo in this quote. I also lift up the corners from the deck.

Here's the deck wicked and ready to go:

Well I've been fighting this thing all day....

-Tried 2mm id with about 3 different cotton thickness amounts
-Tried 2.5mm id with about 4 different cotton thickness amounts
-Tried 3mm id with cotton shown in the image I posted

I surrender! I surrender! I surrender...

Rock on Doggie lovers, it's not for me, moving on!

Update... After letting it sit for a while I decided to refill the tank again thinking there is no way this can be so difficult.. After refilling and following their goofy refill process for the 2K18, it does appear to be wicking better with the same 3mm id coil and cotton config I previously posted.....

I'll vape it and see... Maybe I had a tank pressure issue going on as I previously did not follow the goofy refill but still odd....

Are you sure the liquid control is open everytime?

Wide, wide, wide open....

I just refilled and it's fine now.. My issues appear to be that I was not following their goofy refill instructions which while goofy, appear to be needed....

I was not partially putting the top cap on and turning it upside down then pushing the top cap all the way on before.. This appears to be a needed step...

I assume I had a tank pressure problem going on...

And I just rebuilt it with a 2.5mm coil.. Used about the same amount of wick as a previous fail attempt and it's vaping and wicking a-ok.... So I suppose it was a tank pressure issue... Odd but hey, I am happy.. The filling process is 100% goofy though.. Can't say I've ever used a tank where you are expected and required to tip it upside down without the top cap being seated but hey.... It's working..

Yeah - you usually get a squishy noise if you close the cap upside down and lots of bubbles. But it does help to minimise any liquid in the airflow hole escaping.

Build wise - stick with 2.5mm id - it seems to be the most popular choice on this thread.

I've found with the tails - you want them touching the deck, with a mm or 2 tucked in. Also, if there's too much cotton in the channels, it's hard to twist the chamber when you are playing with the jfc.

The build in these pics is ss316L 28 gauge, 5-6 wraps - 0.55 ohm. I wicked with rayon.

CHEERS!!!!! Suddenly, I am happy again! (Was getting a wee bit worried there for a while.)

I don't have, nor do I want the 2K18. I'm kwite happy with my "older" bottom fill models. ;)

Be happy Kat and Merry Christmas ;)

Thanks to wicking the 2k18 deck I now know what tail length etc works for me, so my 2k16 buttfill stable is back to numero uno.

Plus the 2k16 LOOKS so much nicer ;)
