They've updated the status on their site to say " YiHi has informed us Shipping will begin Thursday March 26. This would get them to us the following Monday/Tuesday and we will begin immediately shipping the pre-orders,"

Had my hopes up...but figured it would end up being toward the end of the estimate window.

I am bummed that the paint ripped actually. I will not use nickel. chemo is kicking my .... so I went from like 30+ml(seriously) a day to like 3-4ml. I still really want a new one and the m-class is the only one now. the thing is the paint can rip again. maybe a better idea is a place up in Chicago can strip it and anodize it for $35. I mean since I won't use nickel anyways. it's like a scratch in a good car. this thing is by no means a Junker otherwise. you do fix a scratch in a good car. it just so happens for only $200 I would afford replacing this "car". I don't know if that is my best option though. I like the latest and greatest regardless of if I will use all the features but it can rip again.
I am not going to go hana again. the real ones here (3 of them) all had a very short and uneventful life.

Powder coating might be a good option if you're comfortable breaking it down into components and reassembling after

The finish is one of the things that made me cancel my preorder for an M.
Its too expensive here in the ripoff UK ;) that gun coating would be good keracote?

So you kept the HB40 and cancelled the M class bizarre! Bought a HB40 spent a couple of hours modding properly and sold it the same day! Terrible paintjob on those!

Its a real shame there are so many dna mods the full sized SX350 was only used by a few low volume mod builders even though it destroyed a DNA30 in features. I cant see the SX350 mini and SX350J being taken up in such a evolv centric vaping market. The DNA40 has been the worst joke unless you are blindly patriotic and actually think evolv can do no wrong.

I own both YiHi and Evolv chips and enjoy them all. My DNA 40 works flawlessly, just as my SX300 series chips. It's not simply a black and white issue. Also keep in mind that we have no clue if the SX350J will have its' own set of issues. If it does, let us hope it's in the software and people will be able to update a firmware fix themselves.

That's a huge plus for YiHi. Being able to update firmware via USB as an end user. To get the new feature Evolv just came up with, locking ohms in TC mode, you would have to send it off too your manufacturer, and that's if they would even do it for you.

Agreed. But again, we are speculating that IF there is a problem, that it would be in the firmware. We don't know if or what problems there might be with YiHi's version of TC. Still, the potential of being able to fix something on your own is appealing and could one day prove to be a priceless feature.

I understand the anger toward Evolv and their issues. It's a company held to high standards and has shown slight arrogance when comparing their product with Chinese counterparts in the past. (I remember Brandon whispering to the camera in Busardo's video last year stating China won't be able to do TC as good). And of course ... the PRICE. When people are spending $200+ on a device, they expect a higher level of quality and perfection. Evolv dropped the ball on that and anyone who denies it is simply a hardcore fanboy. However, we can't dismiss those who have had positive experiences with their products either. There are plenty of people who have DNA 40s with zero issues.

What people need to understand is that Temperature Control is a completely different vape experience and you have to learn new "science" and methods when working with it. If you think for a second that you're going to vape a MAX VG juice @ 40+ watts @ 400 degrees .... think again.

I got one of the very first DNA40 rDNAs from the very first batch and haven't had a single issue with it, TC mode or not, so I am one of those, lol

I know many people weren't as fortunate though, and have had nothing but issue after issue.

I think Evolv, especially with the recent chip issues, needs to allow user updates to firmware via USB. If YiHi can do it, there is no reason Evolv can't.

I guess the reasoning is that they don't want to make it easier to reverse engineer. But in the end that's a bit ridiculous. USB or not, if someone wants to reverse engineer their firmware ... it's going to happen.

Yeah I love my HB DNA 40, great little box, fantastic for the price. Finish is aces on mine, not a nick, scratch or scuff as yet. The only beef I have is the smoked lexan over the screen.

The finish is one of the deal breakers for me on the SX Mini. A friend bought one after I talked it up to him and I was disappointed with it from the first time I had it in my hand. Don't get me wrong, it's a very nice mod and no one is going to go wrong getting one, it just isn't the mod for me. I realize this is an SX Mini thread guys, so that is just my opinion and not a challenge.

I'm getting a BMI by Beastmode instead, in case you wondered what I thought constituted a mod worth cancelling my SX Mini M preorder for. I saw them shortly after I preordered the Mini and couldn't get them out of my head and finally decided I wouldn't be happy without one.

I am a hardcore fanboy to the brands that suit me well in all realms. once their quality drops off I jump ship. the only reason I am loyal is for the quality. so when it goes south I move on. I thought hana was the best. in the hana thread I had constantly bashed the Chinese. one too many broken hana's and here I am using a Chinese device. i'd rather do without paint than complete functionality as well. maybe you can call me a sellout. I just go where the quality is and only stay as long as it does.

no powder or cera. although cera would be nice. I will just get it anodized for $35. they take it apart and put it back together. takes a week. so I guess that's that. as I said not using nickel there is not much point and the paint could peel on the new one too.

I really hope yihi does not have a problem with tc. then all the folks we bashed the dna40 will come back to haunt us. honestly I think this is the time where the Chinese are the quality leaders. as odd as that may seem. I would get in on china now. if it goes like japan then it will be good and unaffordable too. heck, korea is making $85,000 cars already.

Man!..you dropped the SX mini for the BMI?? ...I understand if you did this for patriotic reasons (even though the chip is chinese), but other than that the BMI looks like a high-school student's science project..the buttons look uncomfortable to use..heck..the whole ....... thing looks uncomfortable to hold, let alone use. I understand it might have certain appeal to some people out there, especially if they're into 100+ watts vaping, and I have to admit that in that case alone it looks much better than the SXmini with this ridiculous extension tube which makes you wonder if this is a medieval weapon or a demonic sex toy of some sort.
