I love Vapemail days! I was using my iTaste VV / Mini Nautilus combo at work and couldn't wait to get home.
I ordered a Subtank a week ago and it finally arrived. While I was unwrapping it, I was checking out my SXmini again.
While the SXmini was posing, I decided to read the manual and check the software version again. The SXmini manual references LINK mode, so I gave it a shot. Apparently the LINK menu does nothing for me except turn mine off. At any rate, just plugging it into the USB (with no battery) allows the connection to succeed. I saw Version 1.3.1. I verified against the Yihi website and it looks like mine is up-to-date.
While I was at it, I checked the tooling / mold marks. Present on mine too. To each his own (and I don't judge) but to me, not a big deal. That's a speck of dust by the cap not a defect.
I also noticed that my case isn't 100% perfectly aligned like many of you have referenced. Again, to me - not a big deal. I have butterfingers so I'm sure to drop it somewhere along the line...
Probably been done before - but here is the Subtank hanging out in its foam coffin next to the SXmini.
A quick test fit of how things look. Honestly, this tank is huge. I have the original Nautilus so I understand big tanks, but things thing feels ginormous.
Front facing shot without the beauty ring. You can see the overhang of the tank, but its not terrible.
Now, I may only have 6 posts, but I've been reading this thread forever (although I'm a new member). I remember someone mentioning the order in which you assemble the battery / mod / tank could create a small gap. In this particular shot you can see I have attached the beauty ring. There is a slight gap which you can see light through.
Quick front facing shot with the beauty ring.
Disassembled and removed battery. Screwed beauty ring on first, then the tank, then put in the battery. Flush fit ...!
And the final picture - my new setup. About time I graduated from the iTaste VV and my Ego Twist.
I'm dying to get some juice in this new Subtank, but I have a lot of homework to do and forum posts to read on before I just throw juice in and push the fire button. This is my first high end mod and dive into Sub Ohm type stuff so I want to do it right. I do plan on trying the RBA at some point, although I might pick up a different atty to learn builds on first.
Hoping Grants Vanilla Custard blows my socks off on this rig.
