You know what I love about the SXmini? If you own one, there is no need to defend it. It works so well that any comparison to other devices just doesn't ruffle our feathers. Fine, use something else to save a few bucks, cool for you. But until you have experienced the stability and options of the Mini you just won't understand why $189 is well worth this groundbreaking device. It's a breakthrough. Period. (And it doesn't look like you should be sneaking around drinking out of it.)

I received my SX Mini and a VS rDNA 40 about the same time (close to a month ago) and now have had time to develop a love-hate relationship.

My conclusion is that I am anxiously anticipating the M Class Mini with temp control. TC is freaking awesome on an rDNA, when it works. I have every confidence that Yihi is going to up the game on this technology if the current Mini is any indication.

My other conclusion is that when I want to get an accurate double check on an atomizers resistance after the DMM, I use the Mini. Even on nickel builds. It is always pretty spot on with the DMM. It won't fire the super low resistance coils but it reads them accurately which is more than I can say for the rDNA. My consistent experience is .11 on the DMM and the Mini and anywhere from .16 to .34 on the rDNA.

How? What software do you use to do it?

For costumiser the home screen,

I use software "Logo Changer" my Toons friend did.

You can find it on youtube:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6daynznIKA

the links are below the video, but it works only for the time being with the SXmini S Class :(

I think that Yihi will release a new SXi for SX350 V250 and i hope that this new software will offer the possibility to make the logo... I ask this to Yihi since a long time.

This is not an official software and Yihi gave a warning, I prefer remind you...

But I use it several times a week :) (see my Youtube page: https://www.youtube.com/user/bonmatos)

Any talented designers / machinists in the house? I'd enjoy seeing some drawings of an off-set 18650 extension for the SXmini. :) I can see something contoured... I think it could be made to where the device would still be comfortable to hold. It would extend the length of the device somewhat to maintain a flush base, with the battery tube off-set to the side.

I really don't remotely need 120 watts, but a well designed extension would just be a cool accessory for the SXmini, since it is capable of 120 watts, and would be more practical than the tube extension for sure.. ;)

rounding third and heading home...
While your patriotism is enviable, that would be like comparing a Mustang (not that there is anything wrong with one) to a Lamborghini.... with the Lambo being cheaper. ;)

could we at least use a Corvette as the comparison? it makes more sense and it is so much better than a mustang for the purposes of this comparison. i long got over the "buy American" hype-in a free market i choose the products that give me the best quality and most bang for my hard -earned dollar- if it is American that is fine but if it isn't i feel no guilt about spending wherever i get the best return. the lines are so blurred now anyway with so many products- it is darn near impossible to tell what is what anymore. i chose the sx mini for a lot of reasons-its country of origin is last on my list for consideration. it is better than any dna40 device i have ever used-besides, 40 watts is just too limiting for me now anyway. just remember, you may not need all that power but it is nice to know it is there if and when you need it....

LMAO I was secretly relieved when I found out that wasn't the poster's SRT 8, I would hate to see someone waste their money like that. I work at an "A lot" dealership and can honestly say, Chrysler's are not of the highest quality generally speaking...IMO

I agree with the "not the best quality" part..... but.... it is the fastest bang for the buck ...:p

my paint job is done. to be fair, coating al is difficult. the only really rugged coating is haiii. it is $$ and only comes in black. I do not think anodizing would have faired better than powder on this.

you know what? some things made in America do not equal quality. new balance, Chrysler do come to mind.
the vet is the only viable American car. it is honestly a disaster of creaks, rattles etc but it goes nice. the z06 is a waste because a m3/4 is much nicer and you can carry stuff too. Cadillac is a joke. a comparable mb is way nicer for same money. you can run cts into the 60's so stupid. pitty the fool that buys that. if you get a cts stop in the 40's or get a mb,bmw, lexus. honestly for 75 the ls460 is the most car you can obtain short of Bentley. korea is ahead of the Chinese and the equis is nice but not ls460. I would compare the sx mini to a 335i. solid good quality. go figure it happens to be from china. china can make a fine product. it is us companies that job out the cheapest labor resulting in junk product. if you buy Chinese now buy from a real Chinese company. I replaced some mark levinson with xindac and it is superior quality because ml went down the toilet after 2001. thing is it is a real Chinese company not some nad us designed jobbed out junk.

Right behind you...
It is too good to be true, most likely. Yihi went to the mattresses last year when another Chinese vendor was taking pre-orders to sell the SX Mini. They won't even let US vendors sell back to people in China. If anything, they may have cloned the SX Mini housing, with a non-Yihi board inside.

Yihi may lower the price down a bit to move old stock if there's a lot sitting around when the M-Class hits the market for just $10 more. But for now they're pretty serious about maintaining the current $189 USD list price and prohibition on Chinese sales, anyone who doesn't follow the price they set or sells to China will be blacklisted from carrying Yihi products in the future.

Yeah its a game I don't understand like most I assume. Companies like Sigelei, Innokin, and SMY deny selling to FastTech, but low and behold every month you see new listings for authentic products. And even though I've also heard that Yihi won't sell to Chinese vendors (aside from Sigelei and Greenleaf), when Yihi sells 1000 lot orders of chip-sets how would they even know where they go?

It's actually quite easy to know where legitimately sold product goes since most companies track serial numbers. It also isn't unusual for supply agreement to have restrictions on the ability of a customer to resell product. In a case where a company purchases components and secures the right to resell, those resale clauses usually would have a right of first refusal for the manufacturer to repurchase. Most companies know exactly which product they sold to which customer or distributor, so if the parts end up in devices that ultimately end up coming in for a warranty claim YiHi would quickly figure out where they came from.

It's more likely that any product that gets used in unauthorized devices is either stolen or counterfeit. I used to work for a very large analog semi company negotiating their supply agreements and we often had company's seeking warranty claims on stolen or counterfeit product. We had armed guards accompany shipments from our Fab to the shipping point since the trucks were subject to hijacking attempts. It also happened that we had problems with shifty employees taking product and selling it out the back door.
