That's the way I do it when I don't have the ss mesh.
I watched the same video before I got it. But I wrap the coil a little wider than normal to be able to fill the holes on the side.

I'll have to pay attention when I take it apart this evening. I have the authentic and I watched the video before I did my first build and I've only had it leak once but I used a 3 ml piece of ekowool and no flavor wick. The cotton shoved in 2.4mm coil seems to be doing well, no leaking- yet. Lol
The ss mesh with flavor wick worked like a charm but silica bugs me for some reason.

I also have the authentic. I think their channel holes (the hole where your wick comes out) is much larger than the clones. The clone manufacturers took the original design and tweaked it, making those holes a tad smaller.

My leaking was very mild and rare. Any leaking to me is too much. So I fixed it. :p

I've tried it shorter and longer. No real difference in quality or taste of vape. Just as long as it doesn't hang so far that it gets in the threads then you are fine.

Will that cause leakage if it just sits there for a while, not being used?

This was my concern with the suggestion of Rayon ... the Taifun will eventually leak with cotton, and xc116 which is rather dense, and absorbent, if the eliquid is left in the Taifun for extended periods of time.

I don't extend my wick that far out with xc116, I only allow 1mm on each side ... I have the Hcigar 1:1, and the Rainbow Heaven which is FT's version A.

But I also believe, based on my friends feedback, that you need more wick when using cotton .. that is why I like ceramic wick, just one little 3mm diameter piece, and one wick lasts forever.

I thought you needed more rayon then cotton not the other way around

Yeah- black and yellow; it matches my car- lmao!!!
I use a piece of coat hanger for everything else; but, I couldn't find any and didn't feel like cutting up another one so I figured why not. Lol

I can speak for Rayon because I have never used it .. if its working for you as is, that's all that matters. I did some early reading on rayon, but there was a lot of speculation regarding its safety as a wick material, so I never looked into again.

I'm all for the clones changing them here and there but they should say. Like the kfl black edition, they cloned the kfl but made it better, in my opinion.

In my kayfuns I use quite a bit more rayon- it looks like rayon shrinks when it gets wet; like me when it's cold out. Cotton expands when it gets wet. So I always account for shrinkage.

Yeah the reason I put the wick down is so it can wick when it gets low on juice

I'm so damn OCD that looking at it and seeing that tail hanging down is starting to big me a bit- lol
And I just orders the clear tank and nano kit for it too. Ehh I'll get used to it. As good as it tastes it's worth it. Lol
