I ordered a GT clone and a Fogger v2 from FT. If I'm not mistaken the difference of the clone and the real thing is the deck side wall. I believe the real GT the deck walls can push down so you can build easier then just pull it back up when done, but the clone it's actually a cap that you have to pull off to build then slide the cap back on top of the deck when finished building. I'm pretty sure that's what I saw on some vids somewhere.

I have watched a video review on the real deal where the wall deck can be pulled off completely. The clone copied exactly the real thing....

Wasn't aware of that. Does the clone have the ability to push the deck walls down and out of the way like the real deal can? Or can it only pulled off?

I really want to love the GT as it's a perfect fit on my GP X, but every build I throw at this thing proves failure.

Without using mesh, what's a solid build to install on the GT?

I currently have Cotton balls, Cotton yarn, 1mm silica, 2mm silica, and of course whatever mm silica came with the GT.

Any suggestions?

One more unsuccessful attempt and she hits the classies faster than she hit my doorstep ;)

I use basically the same build on the Taifun that I use on the kayfun Lite, except, of course, the wick is shorter. 1/16 dia. micro coil. Cotton ball wick. Trimmed off just a couple mm beyond the outside of the chamber. Mine never leak, dry hit, or gurgle. I have two of them. Currently, the Taifun GT is my favorite atty.

Man...Dont give-up! This is one of the best vaping tank atties out there.

If you have your coil installed right, there are basically only two sources of setup failure. Either the amount of wick in the coil or amount of wick material in the slots.

If you describe what is happening and what the setup looks like after failure (pic would help), I am sure we can help diagnose and fix the issue.

Perhaps this afternoon I will drain, clean, and rebuild the GT. I will provide step by step pics of the build and setup process that I am using. I am going to go back to the first build with micro coil/cotton.

It just seems to me that I am not getting enough wick to plug the chamber holes. Its like no matter what I throw at it the juice seems to flow right on it, which as you know leads to floods. It is a very smooth vape when it IS working correctly.

It was more of curiosity on my part. I have had some issues with flooding as I think I like the flavor from being right on the edge of flooding.

Have you tried a larger air tube or 14g needle?

For the most part I have used the stock 1.2mm air tube. I have a vertical coil setup right now, but I'm going back to a horizontal micro soon and I'm going to try the 14g needle again which is about 1.6mm.

Forgot to post the play by play, but I've a successful build on my GT so far.

28g @ 1.5 microcoil & cotton. I did not use an extra wick over the top. Trimmed my wicks 2mm past the chamber. Swapped for the lighter draw tube.

So far so good. It's hitting the best it had since unveiling.

Stoked!

Really didn't want to sell it, but I was close!

I really like the full clear tank. I like the very slight matte finish.

I believe the dripper kit for the Taifun GT is going to be available soon.

Rumor is the Taifun GT V2 will have a SS shielded glass tank.

Any word on when the V2 might come out? If it's a long time from now, I might just go ahead with getting the current Taifun.

No, nothing solid. Best guess would be late January to early February at the earliest, but that is totally a guess.

I doubt you will be sorry picking up the original now. In stock now here Taifun® GT ECIS-SHOP
