Was pumped for this... but then i saw it's size... too tall... too wide :/ I wish they'd stop making 23mm atomizers.

That's all I use! One of the reasons, though many others as well, as to why I use the Taifun, rather than the kayfun. All of my vaporizers use a 23 mm atomizer flush. Different strokes, I suppose. Good luck! :toast: :D

Oh of course... if you're using a 23mm mod or have a huge hammond box or something you're golden. I use only small 22mm hybrid mech mods (nowadays) and a bunch of smaller VV/VW boxes that overhang... or look wonky... with a 23mm atty.

Aint nothing wrong with a 23mm mod at all!

Finally received my Taifun GT II from SmokerStore (2 weeks was about right). Very impressed with build quality and eager to try it out. However, I insist on thoroughly cleaning my new RTA's and am a bit concerned about disassembling the base. I know from reading earlier posts on this thread that it is press-fit together and that I can tap out the build deck in order to scrub each part as I am wont to do. I'm just wondering if there will be difficulties getting it back together and whether this is advisable or not. Any input would be appreciated.

I saw what the base was about and didn't even consider it. I went over every inch with a sonicare and tried to get up in the AF holes. I don't think it would be worth taking apart the base, but if you insist I would definitely check with someone who has done it already.

The base is not meant to be user serviceable although it can be separated, I would advise against it, something to be done only if necessary perhaps.

I won't do it then...irksome since it came coated in goo (glycerin, I suppose). It also seems inevitable that e-liquid will make its way down there over time.

You can run hot tap water and dish soap through it.

Thinking of my experiences with other atomizers:

The Rose v2 has a similar base, but it's just screwed together really tight and can be taken apart with the provided tools. E-liquid collects down there and rinsing just adds water to it.

And on the KFL+, e-liquid seeps down the air outlet and cakes up on the 510 pin and insulator. They need to be scrubbed on occasion and the shaft swabbed with a Q-tip.

YESSSS a non press fit baseeeee

Burping out loud using Tapatalk

I have two of these from Focal. I had to put a thin strip of Teflon tape under the chimney sleeve to stop a small leak to the deck until I can replace the oring with correct size but other then that it works great. It came with black o-rings installed and a full set or spare red o-rings.

So what is the best TGT2 clone everybody likes? It's been long enough to wait and get one for myself but from what I've read it's been mixed opinions. Just like to get you guys thoughts before I make a purchase :)

I have bought 4 so far from Fasttech, the last one hasn't been shipped as yet. It's the Hotcig one and looks good from what I see from the pictures.
But of the three that I have the best one is this one: https://www.fasttech.com/p/2080500. Most of the clones come with a tank liner that is 1.5 mm thick, that's a bit thick and doesn't leave much room between the chamber and the inside wall of the tank. This one, https://www.fasttech.com/p/2080500 has a liner that is 1.2 mm thick.
The original TGT II's tank liner is 1 mm thick and is glass and not plastic. The one I linked to has a plastic tank, the Hotcig says glass but who knows.

I appreciate the info. Both links are the same though, I'm pretty sure you meant them to be different. Please keep us posted on the hotcig one :)

Both links were meant to be the same. The one linked is the only one so far (from FT) of mine that has the thinner tank liner, the Hotcig one appears to be thin also but got to see it first before I'll know.

Alright I cleaned and setup my GT II.

For cleaning, I skipped soaking the metal parts in Everclear since I can't open the base. Instead I just used soapy water and used a syringe to shoot it through the airholes. Seems to have worked. Upon reassembly, I took a few dry pulls and detected a very faint, brassy taste, but not enough to make me start over.

The build has to be the easiest in the history of RTAs. I first tried the same 26 gauge, 3/32" build that I use in the Rose. Decent, however I bought it because I thought it would be a good candidate for a 24 gauge build with its larger chamber, wider chimney, and gustier airflow. So I did the same build with the heavier wire, ~.6 Ω, and am currently running it at 24 watts. Flavor is good, if not as concentrated as that of the Rose, without being too warm.

I'd like to run it hotter, but would need to up the ID to 7/64", which I don't think would fit between the two posts without touching. I could try raising the coil up a bit. We'll see. Right now I'm interested to find out how long the present build will last before needing to be rewicked.

All these Orings I ordered for the GT and I need one for my GS. Anybody know what size Oring is used where the tank meets the base?

Why of coarse, those are listed in one of my blogs, let me check

Top Cap/Tank Top + Tank Bottom: 12 mm x 1 mm
Chimney Tube: 4 mm x 1 mm
Base Top: 12 mm x 1 mm
Chamber Cap 8 mm x 1 mm
510 screw 2 mm x 1 mm
Drip Tip 5 mm x 1.5 mm

So 12 x 1 mm is the answer.
