Ive been using my Taifun now since I got it and noticed that it was getting floody. I figured it was my wicks not being fluffy enough. I rebuilt it and use a bit more and left a bit more fluff sticking out and lightly pushed inside for any errant liquid.

It kept getting worse and I could see the liquid going up the center air tube. I thought maybe its too open, still kept leaking when left alone for a while. It did not do this over night.

I decided to try the OEM glass and SS tank, no leaks, in fact I had to open the JF a tad. Been hitting it hard and for longer drags, so far no dry hits.

Has anyone had problems with their Steam Tuners clear Taifun tank? I checked and it seems the O-ring is not tattered or loose or dry. I will let it dry and try it out again tomorrow. I think someone posted about something you can do to check if the seal is good? I think it was Roxy...

You could remove the sliding chamber and with it's cap installed could be held with needle nosed pliers or similar to check the fit of the chimney tube/o-ring. The only other possible cause I can think of is if the I.D. of the Steamer tank is smaller and pushing the wicks to one side (I doubt this).

Well, I got a fix for my Taifun leakage.. It was the drip tip I put on it. I changed out the tip for a fancy one I just got in. It was a bit looser on the Steam Tuner tank which messed with the air tightness and caused a straw effect. I cleaned it out, put the OEM tip and its fine again.......
I don't understand this. At least I understand cleaning it out would help but a loose drip tip causing a straw effect? I can't see how and would love to be told.

I should have photographed it, you could see liquid in the tube of the Steam Tuners tank since its clear and so is the chamber and tube. I would take a puff and see it moving up and down. Juice was going down thru the air intake holes.

I dont know how it happens, all I know is that when I put the OEM tip back on its much tighter and no leaking and gurgle. I had put a beautiful Moddish Metal Works and its a bit loose.

Maybe "straw effect" was the wrong wording. But all is good now. Im disappointed I cant use that tip on it.

Thanks for that but, goodness, what a shame. I think if I'd spent that amount of money  on a tip I'd make sure it fitted!
Is it not possible to wind some floss or PTFE tape under the O ring? If it's really loose, I'd think about putting some heat shrink sleeving on the barrel.

Or, of course, you could just send the tip to me. :D And the tank. :D:D And the mod. :D:D:D

I have a question which certainly was addressed earlier, so I beg your pardon for not reading all 144 pages of the thread.
The question is about juice flow control - it does not work for me. If I set it to size I like, then when I unscrew a tank for refilling a chamber cap ("regulator" of the flow) will come out with a chimney. Only if I screw the cap firmly (minimal flow position) it will stay in place. Is it because I am doing something wrong, or just O-rings on a chimney are too thick?

I use a slightly over sized o-ring on the cap (11 x 1 mm or 12 x 1 mm), makes it a bit harder to put it on when off but it stays put.

^^^ What the man says! I have several GT2s now. They respond well to this treatment except one which I had to very carefully deform the sliding chimney to grip the cap threads more tightly. (I just tightened it up in a hand vice.) It made the cap a bit graunchy when screwing it on but it works brilliantly now.

I cant figure it out. My Taifun keeps leaking thru air holes. All was going well and even with the OEM drip tip and OEM tank and all it keeps happening. I added more wick, If I close off the JC then I start to get dryish. If I open it up a tad, then its starts leaking.

Obviously the air pressure keeps messing up after a while. I cleaned everything up and let it sit to really dry. Going to take it apart and get it all put together again.

What do you all think?

Anavifan, have you watched any vids on wicking? You probably have but just checking. I wouldn't mind a pic or two of your build, others can help that know what their doing, and I'd like to know what's going on. Hard to read through page after page when threads get this long.

Well think I found the problem. Oring on top was not seated where its supposed to and it was keeping the air tube from going down as low as it was supposed to. It was leaking juice from where the tube is supposed to seal up at the top of chimney. So far its behaving. Great taste, great vapor. I will keep chaining it and making sure it behaves.

Oh man, I should have said something, but I thought "nah, it carnoot be zha ooo-ringz" (I said it like that, really).

The O-ring in the tank cover can come loose during cleaning, I remember in the first couple weeks I saw it fall out and crapped myself, because I didn't even realize an o-ring was in the one spot, lol (just didn't think about it, out of sight out of mind)
