I'm not sure I understand "shorten the height of the air tube"

Are you talking about the tube on the top cap? You physically modified it? Or just mounted your coil as close to the lower air port?

(sorry, I feel very silly asking this, I'm a little brain dead tonight and I'm sure the answer is straight forward)
Under the coil

wait..what? Bathed my buy one get one free Taifuns yesterday and am putting them together today. Why is the chamber well not able to be pushed down to where I like it? In fact it will not push down at all?
Did I read something about this here the other day?
I use those acrylic tanks and must be able to push the well further inside for them to work

I have experienced same issue, purchased 10 of the plastic tanks from fastec, and it seems they only fit the Hotcig models. my other clones will not let me push them down far enough, I think the stems are too long.

Well with the other clones you can push the well in further and it will all work with the acrylics tanks. Wonder if I use parts from my other Taifuns (the wells) if that will work. Where is the resident Taifun expert? CRAIG?

Are you refering to the Tobeco clones that were onsale a couple weeks ago for10$, I put my four away in my vapocalypse box, but I did look at one of them and noticed the chamber only pushed down so far.May be a problem, wont know personally for a few years down the road. If craig dosent reply with answer in atimely manner, I will break one out and experiment with it and let you know what I think.

They are in the "vape" position when all the way down which seems to be a bit higher than than the norm as well. The tube on the tank top that inserts into the chamber's cap appears to be the default length, i was wondering about that part.
Your correct, plastic tank will not fit the tobeco clone, even tried the chamber top cap from the Hotcig and it screwed onto the tobeco, but the plastic tank still would not fit.

I guess by plastic you are talking about a bell cap as I just put two different TGT1 tanks on the Tobeco base and one was an authentic.

perfectly
I have a couple other fastec clones and the bell caps dont fit those either. They seem to fit the Hotcig ones though, even my GTI stainless tanks fit the Hotcig GT IIs clones. Wich works out well, I seem to be dropping them lately. Had them since april and never broke any glass tanks, and broke 3 of them in the last 3 weeks.

The bell caps (acrylic) fits all my other clones, unsure what they are, Tobeco maybe (from FT)
BUT only if I push the well down further than it normally goes. Since these (Hotcigs) are incapable of pushing the well down I am not going to be able to use the acrylic tank. Unless the well is interchangeable.
I have to clean and rewick in a little while and I plan to see

Just as I suspected, they are interchangeable. The well/skirt from my others fits onto the new one and as you can see in pic, it is much shorter. Enough so that an acrylic tank will fit on it.

I took a much closer look at the Tobeco TGT2 in respect to different dimensions. The only thing worth noting is the sliding chamber, the distance from it's inside lower o-ring groove to it's top is the same as others so that bottom part could be whacked off if someone chose to. Tobeco may have may it that way as a revision of sort, or just a blunder.

I personally don't have that model (tobeco) but sanding off some of the bottom should be fairly easy. Adding more or moving the oring groove - that would be a lot harder ;)

How would one go about sanding some off? I mean what tool would do that?

ugghh spoke to soon about no leaks...fixed one of my new Tobeco TGT last night, new (to me) wicking system and woke up this morning to an empty tank and a mess all over my Vaporshark. Thankfully I did not put it on my EYE and allow the mess to gunk up my new lanyard
