Nope (though I might drop it on the floor due to bad tactile feed back ), it's still on there and in good (Cleaned) shape, it's just that now that I have gone thru all my rta/rda/Clearo's I find that this Taifun is the only one that has a spring in the 510, and even tightened down the screw still sits proud of the threads about 0.25mm. On my Cuboid (where it will prolly reside, forever, it just looks good to me) I have .5mm to .75mm of contact with the Cuboid 510 pin before it is fully tightened down. I can put (1) .5mm spacer (but not (2)) under the Taifun base and still make Taifun 510 screw to 510 pin contact on my Cuboid. As I look at the 510 arrangement on the Taifun, I can't see a need for the spring with the shallow 510 pin socket on the Cuboid (if I am tightening the screw down tight anyway, as you alluded to also), but I'll keep the spring in the little baggie of spare o-rings that came with the Taifun so if for some reason I do need it in the future, I have it. I am not planning any TC with this Taifun, just Kanthal builds.
Sounds like a plan.

Then I really would not worry too much over a 0.0x ohm variation on a Kanthal build. Just put your spring back in and reboot your OCD engine...

Ha Ha, Good one Troll :lol:. My memory helps keep OCD in check, I forget to be me. ;)

Well fellow TF fans... I think I killed my GT2 base.

Ive been using it as a dripper lately and have recently tried using the "side air" I used one of the plastic tubes in the air intake under coil and used a tooth pick to block it. I pressed it in too tight or it expanded and could not get it out.

I spent a few hours trying to remove it and only managed to shove it down lower and shred the plastic tube/toothpick way down inside.

I tried to remove most of it, but it has definately blocked the pathway for air. It literally sucks.

Has anyone done something like this or am I the FIRST ?

I there a way to totally break down the TFGT2 base?

Im a dummy.....a sad one...

You might try a (very small and long enough) small screw for plastic, coarse like a wood screw but not tapered except it's end (pointed). got to be the right size as not to expand it much. Screw it into the plastic tube then pull.
That's how I pull them.
Oh, I wasn't quite awake, just got the part about the tooth pick, that will surly make it more of a challenge.

I'd take a drill bit by hand carefully drill it clean, keep going up a size until its gone, or if I didn't have proper sized bit/s I would use a hot steel coat hanger, thick heated pin, head first sort of scoop it out, then give it a good cleaning after all that.

I decided to try pulling it out, and kept getting small chuncks, tried it again, and it was just like trying to sip on a real thick shake.

Tried to pull it out with a fine dremmel by making it stick, but no go.

Tried tweezers again, nope. Needle poked myself and bled. Tried a dental pick and tiny flat head , almost got it with the tiny flat head.

So I thought what about shaking it out? I put it in hot water with Dawn and put it in the ultrasound tank for half hour?

Got better airflow. Then I thought , blow it out. Used my DataVac and blew chunks, but in a good way. I almost got a fragment in my eye, USE YOUR SAFETY Goggles.

Im happy now

Glad you got it resolved! I know yours are authentic, that would hurt (messing up an expensive base like that)... If at first you don't succeed, try until it's fixed or COMPLETELY broken...that's my motto ;)

Thanks Craig, I thought I would ask before I assumed the deck was assembled too tightly at the factory. I've got that base plus the Acrylic tank built and up and running with a 30g Twisted Kanthal A-1 at 1.43Ω, 2.5mm ID @ 11.5 Watts on my VTC mini, (2) air holes open with a 5mm length of 3mm OD x 2mm ID FEP airflow tube insert installed. Vapes very nice, comfortable, relaxing. Everything fit Perfectly. I forgot to measure how much this Acrylic tank holds, Next re-fill I will though. The replacement glass I ordered form FT for my GT-2-S is too thick though, it was a gamble I know, but wanted to see if it fit.

BTW, I ordered all the above from FT on 03-12-16 and it just got here on the 28th, so 16 days to my door. That's a new record for any order I have gotten from FT, it usually takes 26/28 days from order to my door (that's for items that are in stock and ready to ship). I think that someone somewhere screwed up. ;) I won't complain though, I'm Happy .

I have received my order in as little as four days (really 5) from acceptance to as long as 45 days. Usually 10 - 12 days

As long as 45 days to California, I would hate to think how long that would turn out to be to get to Minnesota. WoW !!!
That was back in the days when they got caught the 2nd time shipping lithium batteries via Hong Kong Post.
