ok, so i have been waiting for sunshine to take a decent picture of my 2 bases. alas, i've not have had much luck ;) and once again, here's bap to the rescue! unless i'm completely wrong this picture:

Just got my replacement SS decks from fast tech. They are SS. Taifun not so bad. First build with mesh was ok but I don't really like the flavor. Went for the 3mm silica on top which helped a lot. Was getting big time leaking before that. Want to rebuild with cotton and micro coil. I removed the air tube which made all the difference in the world.

What is the name of the red stand in the picture (to hold the the atomizer base while you are working on it)? I have been using a block of wood but would like to get some type of proper stand, just don't know where to find one?.

you must be talking about bap's red base in the quoted post - i believe that was available from either kanger or sigelei - bap will chime in, i'm sure ;)

There are several places that sell them, they are just an aluminum base with 510 threading. IIRC I got mine from Stormys, but have seen them sold several places.

Just so's I'm clear, we're talking about these atomizer seats, right?

I wonder why there are so many more clones/variations of the Kayfun/Russian than there are of the Taifun. I like both, and all I have to go on are clones, but the Taifun seems easier to build. When people ask me about these kinds of RTAs, I always suggest a Taifun first, and then a Kayfun or Russian if they just want something different or something new to tinker with. Just thinkin' out loud. Errr...typing....silently. Well mostly silently.

This isn't to really debate what the guys drilling out to 7/64" are achiving because their clouds kind of speak for themselves.

However I wanted to point out a couple things from the internal aspect. This is a clone....I'm working on getting specs and pics of the inside of an authentic TGT, because I see no need to take mine apart. That and I don't think the authentic TGT will be a lot different.

Once you get the air tube and bushing out and drill out the side air hole to 7/64" there is still some limiting factors. Again this is a FT clone, but there is an angled hole in the chamber base that goes to the air tube hole, this is ~5/64". However look at the second pic with the disk installed, it looks to restrict even more.
