This isn't to really debate what the guys drilling out to 7/64" are achiving because their clouds kind of speak for themselves.

However I wanted to point out a couple things from the internal aspect. This is a clone....I'm working on getting specs and pics of the inside of an authentic TGT, because I see no need to take mine apart. That and I don't think the authentic TGT will be a lot different.

Once you get the air tube and bushing out and drill out the side air hole to 7/64" there is still some limiting factors. Again this is a FT clone, but there is an angled hole in the chamber base that goes to the air tube hole, this is ~5/64". However look at the second pic with the disk installed, it looks to restrict even more.

How about beveling that side of the disk a bit to improve the airflow? Shouldn't hurt it at all…

You guys are making me want to punch that deck out to do some more modding :) I'm not a cloud chaser - I swear. lol. I actually like the draw as it is now. But I'm curious to see what that would do. I think I just like modifying things - like cars - fuel, flow and fire baby!!

Guys I need help. For the life of me I cannot get this set up to wick properly. It's either dry or flooding. I want to use silica or ekowool not cotton. That's my kayfun setup. I have 26, 28,30, and 32 gauge kanthal. I have 2mm eko and 1.5mm silica. Help me please!

I've been doing well with three 1.5mm ekowool wicks. I have wrapped around one and two of the wicks and the others are just filler. I think I used braided.

Back when I first got my original Taifun GT it had a 1.2 mm draw tube and the best flavor of any tank that I had ever used. It has on the tight side so I pulled that 1.2 mm tube and used no tube, well that great flavor went away so I compromised and put in a 1.5 mm tube.
The result was a little less flavor than the 1.2 with better air flow. I posted this back then but felt maybe I should post it again.

lol

my wife completely hijacked the taifun for over a month or so (basically since I got in) and only ran Boba's Bounty in it. I wanted to put some reserve flavors and show her that the taifun wasn't "hers" but I smelled machine oils or something out of the ordinary in it. Washed and scrubbed with dawn but to no avail.

she purchased some 100% acetone over the weekend. yea, sure, throw it in there.

was in there for maybe 15 seconds before I was all "...!?!" and mashed the abort key over and over. pulled it out and started rinsing frantically.

the "clear" section is completely opaque. there is stress fractures that aren't completely through but it definitely looks knarly. My wife refuses to use the thing again even though i put the tank upside down and vaped it myself after a proper cleaning.

really wasn't thinking, obviously. already ordered another clear tank section that should be here in two days. at least if this does anything, i'll get my taifun back.

ill post a pic tomorrow for the lolz

Aw man!! That sucks! I've got a brass Kraken clone that is giving me FITS over it's machine-oil taste. I guess I know to NOT try acetone, heh.

lol

I would really like to see it, too... hopefully with instructions this granny can understand. After getting out my drill ang enlarging the outside air hole, my GT still draws much too hard. I have to be careful or my ears pop when I draw on this confounded thing! I'm thinking something is out of place inside my deck/base that is still blocking air movement.
