Here's the taifun cotton build I've settled on

Thing works great with kanthal ribbon wire if you haven't tried it, the posts catch my thick 0.8x1mm ribbon it like its nothing. Takes a try or two to get the wick perfect, but its flawless when you get one working. The ribbon conventional coil seems to singe my wick after around 30mL, while I had to rewick every 10-15mL with 28ga round wire microcoils.

You pack them with cotton or hemp fiber. an yes the coil goes right on the airhole, with the negative leg on the bottom.

Like this.
Good Luck!!!:toast:

I keep meaning to ask about these vertical coils:

Do you need to have the bottom of the coil flush (or very very nearly flush) with the air hole? On something like the Fogger, where the
air hole is flat against the base of the deck, how do you avoid flooding?

I believe it to be considerably cheaper to just get another one from FT, just saying.

Well, I already have the bases, and I have a couple of tanks and caps already on the way, so It won't actually be much more (not counting what I have already spent) than two from Ft. I also want to get a repair parts kit from them.

Does anyone know whether the HCigar (from Focal E-Cig) has a Plexiglass or a Polycarbonate tank?

dont know about the Focal e-Cig shop but my Hcigar clone is supposedly polycarbonate and is from evcigs. No issues with the tank at all. Smooth threading but I had an issue at first with the draw. EVcigs didn't help at all but I figured it out.

I'm liking the TGT more than my authentic KFL+ right now. The KFL+ is a close second though (-:

Well today, being too lazy to tear down my TGT, I ordered some 18mm x 1 o-rings for on the deck under the sliding part. They have already shipped today.
I couldn't take the suspense any longer so I tore it down to check, they are more like 11mm x 1 or maybe even 12mm x .75
Does anyone know what the correct size is? My Poldiac clone will now have a large selection of undershirt o-rings I guess.

Here is where I try to buy all my o-rings, this is the first time I ordered the wrong size,I'm not sure what I was thinking (not thinking)

I'm still way off, edited again and again

Just got a Hcigar Taifun yesterday and have tried about 5 builds on it with nothing but horrible results! Just did my ol' normal Micro Coil and cotton. Tried adding extra cotton but it just keeps flooding! Also every build I have tried there has been 0 airflow.....like sucking a golf ball through a garden hose...lol Is mesh the way to go in these? Seen a lotta pics with mesh builds. Any tips or anything guys? Lol I know i'm not a noob but i'm feeling like one right now! lol

Don't know if this has already been addressed (didn't read what came after this post) .. but there is a fix for the tight draw on the Hcigar TGT (Focalecig) .. the problem is the plastic insulator inside of the air hole (not the air tube). Pull out the plastic insulator inside the air hole in the base and trim off a little from the bottom and replace ... this should fix any problems with a tight draw.

Apparently there is a burr on the bottom of the plastic insulator that is blocking air flow regardless of which size air tube is used.

Found this little tip on Planetofthevapes site, as everyone was having a problem with the tight draw, and this was the across the board fix for it ... Am waiting for my Taifun now, and have been researching the hell out of it as I wait. :)

I have been using a non micro coil in mine.
Wrapped around .9ohm.
Coil is about 2mm above the airhole.
I run cotton through like usual.
The one thing I do to stop flooding is add a piece of cotton to each side of the wick.
It does not go through the coil.
Just enough to fill some space in the wick channels.
What I do it take the cut off ends of my main wick.
Position the cut side nearest the coil, making sure not to cover the coil with each piece.
Drip a couple drops of eliquid onto the "extra" pieces and mold them into the main wick....again, making sure not to cover the coil with them.
Screw on the chimney cap, but be careful not to screw it on TOO tight, as the oring will deform at the wick channels.
If the oring deforms at the wick channels, it will most likely flood the chamber.
Cut the excess wick off, leaving a couple MM sticking out of the chimney.
You have to be careful doing this. Use really sharp scissors.
If you disturb your "extra" wick pieces, they will pull out of place and cause flooding.
Make sure the wick doesn't stick out too far of the chimney. If the wick gets tugged on while screwing onto the tank, the extra wicks can get moved around as well.
After using this method I have not had a single dry hit or gurgle for over 100ml of juice vaped through my GT.
