his ID seems very similar to mine craig. if he's getting dry hits I would definitely try less cotton

my build I posted, I've been vaping higher VG juice (70/30 and up) for the past few months. If I can't chain vape, the build is useless
The restriction is probably where the cotton passes through the holes on the chamber, perhaps thin them down on the ends.

I use micros and cotton only in my drippers except for Aqua and Fogger, all others are traditional wrap on doubled over 3 mm silica.
I get months from them with maybe a weekly dry burn.
Oh I forgot one, micro and cotton is in my Mister Silica (might be my favorite atty)

I took out the air tube and plastic bushing from the coil deck in my GT.. I feel it improved airflow and draw, but now I'm getting like sloshing sounds? I've even taken it back out and added a tiny bit more cotton to the collapsable collar holes thinking I was getting a little flooding, but I'm still getting that sound. Sounds like when your drinking the last bit of soda from a togo cup through a straw.

No flooding per se, but obviously something is going on.... I guess the airtube was preventing that sound. I've tried blowing thru the air hole from the outside, I don't hear any fluid being pushed or anything.

I'm a little lost here. I was actually considering drilling out the air hole on the side of the base - That's what started this...... now I'm not sure thats a good idea.

Just a thought here maybe, is your coil so close to the air hole that juice "hanging" on the bottom of the coil is trying to block it?

Do you guys draw on the Taifun as how you would on a dripper? Coming from REOs and dripping, I forgot how I should actually draw on a bottom fed tank system. Slowing my draw seems to eliminate the cotton taste. Though vapor production drops. Maybe I'll rebuild my coil back to 0.9 ohm.
You'll need to increase the airways on the Taifun for dripper like characteristics, perhaps a Fogger v4 would be better suited for your style of vaping.

No.... and I can't figure out where the liquid is slurping from... there is no juice leaking, none in the drip tip.

If I hold it upside down, it'll stop for a few puffs, then comes back.

All my air tubes are pulled out... I do 8-10 wraps of 26ga kanthal around a 3/32" mandrel.. ends up about 1 ohm. Torched and compressed before wicking. Cotton wick that's a little more than enough to fill the coil... Enough to still be able to slide the cotton with some ease, but not flopping around in the hole. Which seems to be the perfect size to fill the slots on the sleeve without allowing it to flood. Also cut about 2mm from the sleeve which allows the wick to touch the sides of the tank which seems to allow me to completely empty the tank without burning the cotton when the juice level gets below the wick.

I run 13 watts on all my DNA devices with Taifuns on them. Gives me an absolutely perfect vape, as long as I'm doing mouth hits as the air draw isn't enough for lung hits without breaking a blood vessel... As I use these at work for stealth vaping, I am absolutely NOT looking for plumes of vapor...
