All my air tubes are pulled out... I do 8-10 wraps of 26ga kanthal around a 3/32" mandrel.. ends up about 1 ohm. Torched and compressed before wicking. Cotton wick that's a little more than enough to fill the coil... Enough to still be able to slide the cotton with some ease, but not flopping around in the hole. Which seems to be the perfect size to fill the slots on the sleeve without allowing it to flood. Also cut about 2mm from the sleeve which allows the wick to touch the sides of the tank which seems to allow me to completely empty the tank without burning the cotton when the juice level gets below the wick.

I run 13 watts on all my DNA devices with Taifuns on them. Gives me an absolutely perfect vape, as long as I'm doing mouth hits as the air draw isn't enough for lung hits without breaking a blood vessel... As I use these at work for stealth vaping, I am absolutely NOT looking for plumes of vapor...
Are you saying that you increased the size of the holes in the chamber where the wicks exit (and toward the base)?
That is something I'd like to do but hesitate because I have no extra sleeve and Smokerstore's is too much.

Craziest thing just happened. I unscrewed tank for a refill of juice and the top cap that keeps the wicks in place stayed in the tank attached to the air tube leading to the drip tip. As I unscrewed the tank the top cap stayed on the air tube and unscrewed from the building deck section. I had to unscrew the Top-Top section that the drip tip pushes into in order to access the air tube and the top cap to be able to push it off of the air tube. Nuts... what a crazy thing to happen.

I used the opportunity to clean everything real well, reassembled, filled up and all is good. But has anyone ever experienced anything like this?

I was thinking about getting a hcigar taifun gt and my question is this where in the USA can you get different replacement parts for it? I seen on EVC site they have the tank but that is it..I don't want to buy something and not be able to replace things, ya never know when something will happen

Here's a coil I've been using for about a month, I think. Gets a good rinse and dry burn between every tank. It's about .8 Ohm. I think that's a 2.4mm diameter. 28 gauge. 4 wraps. It will be replaced soon....ish.

But a second one for parts. That's the only way you'll know you've got the right pieces. Not trying to be sarcastic, but pieces for a $30(ish) clone of a $175 atomizer, and everybody in China is knocking out copies of Taifun GT's.

If parts are a legitimate concern, buy a spare and save the headache. Buy 2 from Fasttech, $44 for 2 of them.

that is probably the best and most economical solution ;)

Ok...update on the slurping thing. I've taken out the air tube on the build deck. Obviously it's wicking juice into the chamber and some (a little) is falling to the floor and going into the air hole. It's not enough to leak out of the side, but is enough to make a disgusting slurping noise when I draw.

If I blow into the side air intake with the Taifun GT upside down, I can hear the juice (drops) slurping around, the sound will go away for a few draws and then it's right back.

I've tried adding more cotton to the collapsible collar holes trying to keep any excess juice out, and I get either same results or stops wicking properly.

Not sure if you guys are having success after removing your air tubes, but I'm obviously NOT. After this tank, I'll be replacing the tube and plastic bushing.

So I'm kinda stumped with my FT tai fun GT. It shorts out when if it's screwed on the top of my mech mod. And I tighten the adjustable positive pin on my mech top cap. If I tighten it a little more tighter it causes a short. If I loose screw the pin till I feel a little resistance and stop, there's no short. How weird is that? Anyone else encountered this?

I believe it was my Panzer clone mod which I no longer have, the 510 center pin was too big OD, if the positive pin didn't stick out a little from the 510 of the atty it would short. It just was a little too big to be able to go inside the 510 of the atty. The positive screw on the TGT's 510 is adjustable so you could turn it out if this is what the problem is.

It's not cos the OD of the center pin of my mech mod that's too big. I tried unscrewing the adjustable pin on the Taifun out but still the same. Once I tighten the mech mod's center pin, it causes a short. Anyone know how to disamble the taifun's base? Want to see what's going on under the hood.
This may be helpful
what's inside the base?: FastTech Forums

Ok Nubcake here ya go
remove the positive screw a it's tiny o-ring
find a screw (computer) that will screw into the 510 insulator and pull it out.

Find a blunt shaft (i used a screw) that fits into the 510 hole and drive out the deck into a receiver (I used a ss tank) (socket)

This is the most probable spot for a short, I'm going to beef up that little insulator dics with a thicker one, it should let more air through then.
Hey this is my first time in one, something I've been wanting to know about.

And remember to put the big insulator disc in place before re-assembly.
A 3/8" drive socket , the square drive end, straddles the posts nicely to drive the deck back in place.
