On my new FAKE Taifun GT I noticed the logo is not the same as the hcigar. I get no leakage and a smooth draw but I get a taste of burned cotton. Any suggestions to solve this issue?

A good thorough cleaning in Listerine or vodka, etc. may be all you need, assuming you don't just need to change your wick. All new tanks taste terrible to me when I first get them. Soak, soak, soak....:2c:

Thanks Bill's Magic Vapor I will try that. I built it for the first time today and didn't cleaned it. Also I used organic cotton and the first 3 or 4 puffs were fine but after that it just got awful. I am coming from a Stillare Atty so this is all new for me.

Could this be one of the clones that have the really narrow wick slots.
The only TGT that I've run across that didn't "need" cleaned first was a real one and I cleaned it first anyway.

Even if it's clean, what the heck did they clean it with? SOP: Clean/Soak all new hardware....exclude electronics and batteries. :D

dwcraig1 Yes, It has the really narrow wick slots..... Maybe the wick is not getting enough juice and when I draw it dries up.... Maybe that's it?

The wick slots need to be widened, a smaller ID coil and wick with less wattage will work for now.

How can I widen those slots? With a drill? Or what.... LOL I really don't know much about that.
I use a Dremel with diamond dust coated bit of appropriate size ( about 2 mm ). Do you have a place nearby that does jewelry repair or something similiar?

You might have twisted your chimney while screwing the top as the cotton wick comes in contact with the walls thus turning the chimney causing the cotton to be misalligned.I had the same problem but with leakage.after costantly changing the base O rings(the one that locks the chimney) I still had the same problems.guessing I can't find thicker o rings and the chimney is slightly wider(clones~).

Fixed my problem by using those plastic rubber tape that is used for plumbing, costs less than a dollar.white in colour, thin and stretchable.I took out the base O ring and looped once(take note if you loop too much the chimney won't fit)nicely without extra length as tight as possible and tucking them in nicely with needle or pointy tweezers.then put the o ring back in place, its make the base and the ring slightly wider.then just put the chimney in place, you will notice its almost impoosible to turn depending on how much rubber tape you used.this solved my leaking and burnt vapor problems for my gt clone.hope this helps, cheers

I have one that leaks like this when I set it down. I have, on occasion used a syringe with a blunt tip to pull liquid out of the airhole. Works for awhile.
I hope you get some responses because I would love to put an end to the leakage
I have a question...had my first problem last night with gurgling. An hour later it started leaking out the airhole. I read you should vape with the airhole pointing out and up to prevent that. Was that my mistake? If it was the wick it had been fine for a couple days.

I know, I know. I was always so happy when I heard others talk about leakage that I was not in the same boat. Now I am and I cannot pinpoint it. I do not think it is a wick problem with mine. I wish I could remember what others said when the leaking problems came up

Yes, its been problem free for about 3 weeks for me, so I'm not sure what was wrong. The wick seemed in good shape ?

Leaking Taifun GT? I'd be looking at how the wick fills the wick slots, doesn't need to be tight just fluffed to fill the holes. Not too much sticking out to where the tank being screwed on pulls it to one side. Chamber sleeve being too loose allows liquid to be drawn past o-ring, air leak on top tank o-ring also should be considered. Take a good look at that little o-ring on the chimney stem too.

I cleaned and rewicked last night and its been fine again. Could have been the wick I guess.

The type of wick and size in the slot is more an art than a science. Once you get the feel of it, and assuming no problems with the bottom o-ring, 99% of the leaking problems will go away. That bottom o-ring will cause all sorts of problems, and I recommend changing them out if they are too loose. Good luck!
