How does the acrylic do with the tank cracker juices? And will the glass kits they have work on the TGT?

Forget about cracker juice in any plastic, some hold up a bit better than others but depending on which juice they all will crack. The TGT II tanks with entire tank assembly fit TGT I, so yes the FT glass tank kits will fit both models.

Found them here-buy2 get 1 free. Ordered 5 more from Fasttech. Phew. Not something you want to be without.
OMGosh two out of three of my Taifuns tanks broke where the acrylic meets the threads. Down to one. Ordered a few that Craig posted on Fasttech but I will be in trouble if I have to wait for that slow boat from China. Anybody know where else to get a replacement tank?

Heads up: SmokerStore has the GT II back in stock.

On that note, does anyone here know what shipping service they use (to America)?
I'm not sure what shipping they use, as I ordered from InTaste, but I seem to recall people saying it takes a couple weeks to arrive to the US.

this clone i have been using is just amazing. it was sold to me as 1:1 taifun gt II with logo. i think it's same as FT gt 2 with glass. it's mostly used for after dinner when i don't feel like dripping. on top of penny clone, 23 mm setup looks rather nice. hard to find any fault with it. only issue i have is the chamber. the lower part of chamber doesn't really "click" into the o-ring. it's little unstable and sometimes, if i push too hard, the chimney o-ring push the whole chamber down. but it still vapes nice at .7 ohm. been using 50/50 liquid in it and it's nice relaxing vape. not too much cloud, but just enough to let me know i'm vaping.

You can try changing the Oring on the base, the part that the chamber goes down on.

Alright. Someone send me back to school. I've been having nothing but frustrations when rewicking my TGTs lately. I don't know ... is wrong with me. For months and months I've been able to deal with these in my sleep, but for the past three days, I'm in dry hit city.

It's probably that I'm dealing with higher VG e-liquids. 60VG and higher. Now, I've had ultra thick, MaxVG style juices in these before with no problems, but I guess I can't remember the "trick" to wicking for the stuff. I'm using rayon. Builds using 28 gauge kanthal at about .8Ohms, 2.4mm diameter. I've tried using MORE rayon, where it's in the coil VERY tight. And I've tried it somewhat more loose. Dry hits either way.

Maybe it's the tails that I'm doing wrong? I've tried making the ends thinner. No dice. The one thing I have NOT tried (ever) is cutting the tails so that they are basically flush with the interior of the chamber. I know some folks in here do that but I never felt a need to. But maybe this is what I really SHOULD be doing for thicker e-liquids?

I'm so frustrated right now that I'm taking a break from it for a while, at least until I get some input on what I should try next. This thread has saved my bacon on several occasions, so I'm hoping someone in here will twig me to what I'm doing wrong once again.

Sounds like too much wick to me. I prefer the KGD because it expands with wicking, important for the Taifun, but wicks slightly better than the rayon, which tends to compress somewhat, requiring more to create the seal, at the expense of the wicking. :2c: :toast: :D

I snip my wicks at an angle, so I have a fat tail inside the chamber, but a tiny bit through the channel. I've found the "snip flush before the channel" method to be non ideal, as have a few others because if you're tough with your mod like I am, bumps can knock it OUTTA place and it will leak. I run 70 to 91% VG and it works fine

Can you take a picture of the wicks dry? Im having a hard time following where the actual angle is.

Check your orings. It might be that they have worn out over time and they're not making a good enough seal, and not making the little vacuum it needs to pull juice into the wicks. Then again I could be way off :) I know when I have had trouble in the past it's been orings though.
