Just an update, so far the GS II is going great. No gurgle anymore, think that the temp going down thickened up the heavy VG and its wicking perfect.

Will have to figure out how to get it flowing a tad less but not get dry in the daytime when its hot, especially since were in July now and this cool day will not be the norm.

did you try the cotton doughnut method?!?!

@anavidfan could you let us know the internal/external diametr of the PTFE wicks? Probs hard to measure i guess..

No doughnuts, but looks easy to do.

I will see if I can measure the in/ ext size of the PTFE wicks. No leaks overnight...

Thought Id take some picts:

I got it from Ebay. Its 110 mesh 130 micron from bennythestooge as suggested by Sedge for the FEVs
:)
thank you!!

btw, is the ptfe tube filled with mesh or do you have a hole through the middle...?

Also, did you try cotton in the ptfe? You may have mentioned this so apologies if so!

I just pushed the mesh tube into the PTFE tube, snug enough. Its supposed to be 1cm x 2.5cm I probably shortened it to 1 x 1-1.5cm

I tried putting cotton inside and still was floody.
Did you watch the original review that showed how to see it up if you are using cotton for feeders? Just wondering.

BTW, are the mesh measurements you listed straight out of the GS2 manual?

I decided to take out the build and use only mesh. Started out with my mesh cut to 1cm x 2.5cm. Worked perfect. I then torched and quenched. I tried straight torching, but I kept dropping it on the carpet.. not a good thing. Yuck.

I decided over the sink with a bit of water in case they slipped off my stupid messed up hands.

ANy who, seems to be working great. I suppose the only thing to factor in is the viscosity/ thickness of your liquid. Heavy - thick needs a more open weave, 50/50 even finer or more mesh or smaller hole in the middle.

I hope you all are enjoying yours and have no major problems. We shall see if I fall into my usual 2nd build fail.

I just bought a TGT 1 base in the FB Taifun page. It was a pretty good price and shipping from Germany is not bad. I figured I can use this with the dripper and not have to worry about leaking since it does not have the air intake under the coil. I really love the dripper mode. So far the best Ive ever used. I just hope it tastes as good with side air instead of air right under the coil.

I saw the listed, nice grab. The dripper was originally made for the GT1 anyways, so it'll be a perfect pair
