Taking Your Coil to the Next Level!

i have tried this coil but it was hard to make so watched the video again still can't get it but i have done a tricro coil on my dripper this is awesome love its another rip trippers video tutorial and it vapes like a train take aloof bit easier to build than the diamond mine is 2.0 omh and works a treat

Keep trying...from the sounds of it, you are using a thin guage wire, considering you're getting 2 ohms with the tri. If you have thicker wire it's easier to set up and tweak.

I'm not giving up on this post. I have made this coil a few times since my original post and they are becoming easier and easier to make. I gave 30 guage kanthal a try again and I was successful! Came out to a 1.8 ohm'r with 3 wraps per micro coil. I still may prefer the 26 GA, but this is pretty damn good too.

Nobody else out there enjoying this coil style?!

I just built my first diamond coil. Not really loving it, but it could be my Helios clone. Never loved this rda to begin with. It was too big to stick in Protank head.

That's looking pretty good. I see that you have your wicks tucked behind the coil. It works best when those are up top and there is a clear passage from your airhole through the center of the diamond (with no obstruction behind it). If you can center the diamond between the two posts you'll be well on your way to the best vape of your life!

I thought I would try my hand at this. Did a diamond coil on a protank. It worked but wicking it took forever and performance wasn't so spectacular as to warrant doing it again. Tried on my AL-1 genesis. Had to swap out the regular negative screw for a small diameter screw so I could mount the coil level at the base of the deck. Wicked the coil then installed. Left extra long tails so I can pull up wick when it gets old. I really don't think rewicking this will be easy. It works well and is a big improvement over the normal micro coil. It is alot more fiddley to install. 1.7 ohms vaping at 5 volts (pretty much 15 watts) on my provari. *edit to fix image.*

I tried to make that coil... That was not my kind of coil, took forever to heat up the 2.5ohm (even at 6v) and was way to fiddly to make... A nano coil is good enough for me... Until i get my hands on some 28g kanthal... Ribbon wire simply got to much resistance

If you're so inclined you could just make 3 wraps on each micro coil (which will effectively give you 25% less ohms).

Then again, trying this with ribbon wire is brilliant, but has to be near impossible to make the bends after each micro coil and keep it neat.

Coil in my IGO-L turned out a Bust for me. Pulled it and dropped the original back in.

Did figure out what went wrong though. Besides the Coil being higher resistance than I was aiming for, Not a big deal with VW, The way it was mounted was wrong.
Built and installed per Rips video. LAter realized his dripper has the side holes and the IGO has top wrap screws. Coil was sitting way to high for the air hole to properly align.

Will try this again, properly installed and see if it works out.

I've wrapped most of mine on the IGO-L. Haven't had the issue using the top screw as the contact. I also have my top cap drilled out to get loads of air in there (original air hole is way too small for this type of coil.

Builds are getting easier and tighter...

Ah... That makes sense. Will try to adjust. It felt like an air issue. Thanks!

Dang! That coil looks about perfect! Not sure what you have your protank connected to, but I'm currently using mine on a Vamo, stacked 18350 batteries, at 12W. Fires immediately. Fresh, good batteries are always going to give you a better experience.

One fine coil you made there...wish it was performing as good as it looks.
