What I've seen in other places on ECF is Peaches and Cream yarn which is found at Walmart. Get the undyed and boil it first. Or you can try unwinding a sterile cotton ball then twisting into ropes.

So many things to try, but then again my Triton it working great. Why mess with close to perfection???

Don't get me wrong, I agree the Triton works awesome. Too bad my taste buds don't always follow suit. I just wanted to see if I could change a few tanks over to a cotton flavor wicks for when my taste buds decide to act like idiots.

I haven't tried replacing just the flavor wick with cotton (yarn or otherwise), but I'm looking to do an entire rebuild once I finally manage to kill off a coil head with a micro coil and cotton myself. Its just more for the testing purposes of it all, as to my tastebuds, I can't really tell much of a difference between cotton and "good" silica (which is what Halo uses... I've used bad silica... and you can certainly taste a difference)
I run cotton and a micro coil in the REO (about 1.8 ohms or so), and same thing in my drippers (IGO-L and another RDA) and the vapor is great, but the flavor to me is about the same if I used good quality silica. One thing to remember if you're using cotton yarn, is it wicks like a beast, but you can't ever dry burn it, and if you get a dry hit, you won't ever forget it!!!!
Some folks swear by the cotton tasting better, but to my palate, I can't tell... which is odd, since I can taste something, and tell you within 90% accuracy what's in it! LOL.

BigBen, Halo resident tinkerer, quick question which may have been discussed before but not sure. Have you ever replaced the Triton flavor wick w/a cotton "yarn". Not sure if I'm describing this correctly. But not cotton like you would in an RBA like cotton ball but yarn type?

I'm going to try it when the frozen tundra of Indy thaws a little and I can get out and drive. I think it should be pretty easy to find organic, bleach free stuff at like a fabric store, boil it and cut into small strips to use as a flavor wick.

I was just curious if you tried this yet. If so and it was an epic fail, please let me know. I have a few days before I can get out and about. ;)
Cotton isn't durable, so I'm passing on even trying it.

There's a "ceramic" wick out there (it feels just like our regular wicks) which has me curious, but it's not a priority either. I see some fans of SS mesh, but I just can't see how it would work reliably, yet.

For the graduations, I should use some kind of silk screening process, but I have no idea how it's done. It's not a priority though; the graduations aren't critical. edit: it'd be much easier to use a laser printed clear sticker, but the graduations wouldn't be white, and it might not be so durable.

Just to see and use a glass tank would be nice.

Question...I've been cleaning my tanks by rinsing with hot water or soaking in alcohol for awhile now. But one thing I have been doing was removing bothe wicks when I did it. I did it a few times and had no problems. I recently did this and got a burnt taste and popping sound. I googled it and found somewhere that you shouldn't pull both wires.is this correct. Does one wire thread thru the coil? Forgive me if I missed this in Themis thread but here was a lot to read over

That's right.

Bottom wick should just be left in the coil. It can be re-threaded if you pull it out, but both wicks are more easily cleaned left in place and yanked to expose the centers which is what needs cleaning.

I just switched my tanks around because I'm getting rid of one e-juice as soon as it's finished.

First, I took each one & removed the coil, because I was going to reuse it on others. Then I ran the hot water faucet until it was hot in the bathroom, then allowed it to trickle. I then allowed the trickle to run 5 minutes through the tank & also the drip tips & the base where the coil goes.

Allowed each to air dry after blowing excess water from them, then refilled them, using the coil from the flavor from whatever other tank that was using that blend.

Only one had a slight after taste of the other, but that lasted only for about half a tank.

This may not work for strong blends or cartomizers that are not glass. Glass isn't a porous surface, so just hot water should do a good job, the key being to let it trickle from both ends.
