So being only 3 weeks into this I thought that I could use the dual carto tanks I got from provape and use the single coil cartoimizers I bought from Ikenvapes, I learned this evening I was wrong , they are to short. Is there a good rule to go buy, or a site where, or something to look for when buying tanks to know what size cartomizer will fit?

My cartomizers from ikenvape are their platinum punch ones, they are shorter then the ones that came with the DCT tank from provape.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Tank Sizes & Cartos - Phiniac Rugged Pyrex Glass Tanks

The above link to the Phiniac tank site graphically shows the different lengths of cartomizers (Look for the photos beginning about mid-page). Phiniac makes 3 sizes of tanks: the shorty, regular, and XL. For our purposes and what the above link reveals better than I could explain, only the regular and XL matter.

This is an extreme generalization, but there are the regular size Boges (35mm length) that "shorter" tanks use; and there are the "taller" or DCT (for dual coil tank) that uses the longer XL size cartos (45 mm length). Some vendor sites actually will specify the carto or tank lengths in milimeters.

STANDARD SIZE CARTOS 35mm length:
Standard 510 Boge
801 Fusion (regular size)
Bud Carto
Royalsmokers CE2 (standard size)
Kanger Horizontal Coiled Cartos

XL SIZE CARTOS 45 mm length:
Boge XL

Dual Coil Cartos
Fusion XL
The Resurector
IKV KR-808
CE2r5
Royalsmokers CE2 XL
Kanger 510 Cartomizers 3.5 ml

Hope that helps some. :thumb:

Really appreciate the information, thank you. I started to see more sites with tanks and information on size of cartomizers. Shortly may look into getting a phiniac as a first tank, not sure though saw some other really nice ones and would like to start off with glass/pyrex.

Good quality pyrex is wonderful , you dont have to worry about what juice you put it in and you dont get the dulling you get with plastic. THere are some plastic tanks that are much more durable but cant remember the names. You can of course get a Phiniac, which I love, but there are great ones at Valley Vapes Triple V, IBTanked, Bedazzle tanks, Desert Valley, and some more. There are quite a few threads on here regarding Pyrex tanks.

I have the Triple V tanks and the Phiniac and I just fell in love with the smaller, slimmer IBTanks.
