I have been playing with a new PV with variable voltage options. To this point here is where I'm at.
Details of items used and various settings;
Carto's (1.5 (single and dual coil), 1.7, 2.0, and 3.0)
Carto tanks (see above)
VZ Nova2 Dual Coil Clearomizer 1.5 ohm
Atty (I'm not sure off hand of the resistance)
PV devices;
BuD Pro (non-vv)
ProVari 2.5
e-liquids;
Too many flavors to mention, but I have 25 to 35 bottles of various sizes (I know this isn't relavent) and PG/VG mixes.
The nic levels range from 24 to 12 in the above mentioned mixes.
#1) I can hardly taste any flavor that I vape no matter what voltage I have the setting at, or which resistance I'm using at the time. Anywhere from 3.4v to 5+ volts.
#2) I get the same ammount of vaper from different VV settings and even with the PG/VG flavors at different levels. For Example I had ordered 2 bottles of straight menthol, both at 18 nic One was 70PG/30VG and the other was 50PG/50VG. Both using 1.5 ohm cartos and testing at the same voltages (many different settings). I wanted to do an apples to apples comparison. There is absolutley no difference between the two juices. I have also done this with a couple of different flavors at different ohm level catos, with the exact same results
.
#3) Throat hit. Same results as above. I can't ditinguish any difference when doing the apples to apples comparison. I can tell a slight difference if I go from the menthol to something like a sweet flavor, but even that is a mild difference at best.
#4) The clearomizer tastes like plastic and I won't even try that one again to test the differencs. Go figure, I can't taste the e-liquids, but I'm all over the plastic crap taste
.
I do have to say that I haven't really given the 3.0 ohm cartos a shot with the apples to apples comparison. But I wouldn't think that would make that much of a difference.
I am confused to whether this is my tastebuds or it is something else I'm doing all wrong. But with that being said I should at least see a difference in the vapor, right?
On a side note, at this point I prefer to use only carto tanks as they are just so easy to use. I do have a couple of Kanger Pros arriving tomorrow, but I'm not expecting that to help with the vape or taste either at this point.
Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. As I want to best maximize my vaping experience.
***Additional Note***
Going from the BuD Pro to the ProVari did produce a minimal gain in vapor amount, but I would have thought it should have been a greater amount then it was/is.
Also I do not have any reason to believe this is the fault of either PV. As they both seem to function quite well.
