Taste is subjective and KBV

Not sure this is as much of a straight juice review as thinking out loud in type...lol
Yesterday I got an order from Kick Bass Vapors in first off,WONDERFUL to deal with,and can not believe how fast it got here.. Lightening fast...
I was so excited to try them,opened the package in the car..
I got Skipping Stones,OMG,and Carmel Cap..with a sample of WTF(thank you!)..

1.BY far the BEST smelling juice ever...amazing. Buttershots is my favorite liquor,and buttersccoth candy my favorite flavor.. No fake butter smell at all,just wonderfull
Carmel Cap.. smells like the name..

2. Sadly when I tried them all I didnt get the flavor or throat hit I expected,very very mild on both. I did order 60 vg 40 pg.. This is probably the reason.
I will definitely order more maybe in higher pg,and if I can get double flavor..
Ironically I was sypathizing so much on the super taster thread,whatever it was called.. I tatse everything,and most juice has been disgusting to me,all the strong weird tastes I get from it..

3. The boyfriend comes home,now this man eats habeneros just straight,east Siracha chili sauce on everything. I mean EVERYTHING.. He likes everything blistering hot.I get so mad at dinner I spend hours cooking and it doesnt matter what is,on goes this really hot chili sauce,and no its not my cooking!.. he keeps one in the truck with him and does it to EVERYTHING he eats, I dont know how he tastes ANYTHING but that chili,he thinks its like some salt or pepper..

He tried all 3 and is blown away.. They are PERFECT,he tastes them very strong,holds up the skipping stones and says THAT is perfect...

It doesnt make sense.. taste is just very subjective....

Maybe I should have posted this in the noob section,as that seems to be something that takes a bit of time to get your head around,with juice,it doesnt seem to make sense,all you can do is find what works for you...

Great Review and I like how you pointed out the fact that taste is subjective because that is definately true, glad your husband likes the Joose as well and good luck finding a juice that you will like...

Glad to see I'm not the only one who found KBV to be a "let down". I got Tootsie Rolly, Warm Sugar Cookie, Snickerdoodle and Buttercream Icing. While they all smelled pretty good, I could not taste ANY of them and what i could taste was the same...hints of cinnamon/nutmeg? Oh well, at least the majority of folks are very satisfied.

I've got 5 flavors coming from KBV, I've heard alot of good things about the company. Throat hit is not that important to me, but taste is. I usually buy my sweet flavors from Ms.T and Tasty Flavor so I'm used to a stronger flavor. Maybe the joose needs to steep a little?

That totally could be it also..that it will be differnt after having steeped.. This was out of the mailbox..
I messaged Bob and asked him about extra flavor which they will do,also I got the standard 60 vg 40 pg mix.. This also could be part of it.. Im going to try again at the higher pg and with more flavor.. Im just hoping for it to taste as good as it smells... I just saw something in liberty flights diy called bitter and I think it wa s wizard,has anyone tried those?

Try taking the tops off the bottles (not only the lids but the dripper top) and leave them in a safe place opened overnight.

I bought 9 bottles from them and at first I thought most of them tasted the same. The longer I have them the better they have become and I'm finding they are my go to's now. The only one I don't care for is their OMG but that was really my mistake. Why I bought a coffee type flavor when I hate coffee (love the smell of coffee but I've never been able to stand the taste) I'll never know! I had my son try it and he thought it was wonderful. So he received a gift he wasn't expecting.

My favorites -- It's hard to say. Rice Crispity Treat (this was a surprise, I didn't think I'd enjoy it so much!) Butterscotch Bon Bon, Skipping Stones and Snickerdoodle cookies. I have different versions of the Snickerdoodle and Skipping Stones (Hopscotch) from others and these versions are right up there or better. Monkeybread is growing on me, at first it was too mild on the intake but exhale was fine. But in the last few days I'm really loving Monkeybread. Cinnamon Danish Swirl has replaced my previous flavors that were similar but this seems to not gunk up my cartos like the others.

Hopefully I'll have time to do some longer reviews.

I'm really loving these, though he's out of stock on the ones I'd like most to try. Tootsy Rolly is really good, tastes like the candy, which is sorta orangey underneath I think. And the Cinnamint is actually something I've been looking for for a year - it's this week's go-to. The Caramel Cappuccino tastes gorgeous to me - I take my real coffee sweet and strong, this works really well that way. He'll be one of my top juice vendors for sure, if he can keep the stock rolling. Just ordered again but will have to wait on the ones that get the biggest raves, sigh.

Vape Placid - Decent Menthol flavor no TH and the taste is to sweet

Caramel Capp - Decent taste but no TH

OMG - Good flavor no TH

Monkey Bread - Again: Good flavor no TH

The reason I order 24mg is I want a throat hit, if I didnt I would have ordered 0 nic. So frustrating at times. Maybe they will mix a 80 / 20 PG / VG

I just saw a post on another forum here and the person said they added 4 drops of PGA to their juices and it gave them awesome throat hits. Another person there said they used 160 prook vodka instead of the PGA and it worked just as well

And to the OP,
I laughed at what your fella said about Skipping Stones That is exactly how I felt on my first vape! It is a masterpiece

Dgreen,they have a higher pg option,this was the first high vg juice Ive gotton,so I know better now,look on the site,they have a make me choke option..lol
Also the funny thing back to HOW subjective taste is.. I dont get any sweet from the carmel cap....

Videoguus, how long have you been vaping? I know for the first three months I was buying so much juice and was totally frustrated because everything either tasted like crap or had no taste. After I was totally off analogs a few months I went back and revisited my previous purchases and was surprised because the flavor that I originally hated or couldn't taste at the beginning was totally different. Part of it might have been steeping the liquids but I'm sure a lot were just my taste buds starting to work again after too many years on analogs. Caramel and butterscotch I love, but those two flavors took me quite awhile to be able to taste in juices.

I don't like a lot of throat hit so I'm fine with KBV. Nothing except OMG had much TH to me.

I did email boB and asked if he would be willing to remix the (4) bottles of juice that I bought because there is no throat hit and lets just say he seemed like he was less than excited about the idea. I even offered to send back the stuff I just bought. What is the point of ordering e liquid @ 24mg If Im not getting any TH? If I didn't want any throat hit I would have ordered 0mg or 6mg.

I did see on his site that it did have the "make me choke" option but when I ordered I did it through the ordering thread on ECF and asked for his recommendation on a good mix that wouldn't compromise flavor but would give a good throat hit and he replied 60 / 40 PG VG ratio. The first (2) bottles were 50/50 mixed

Some may think I am asking alot by having my juice remade but when I spend my hard earned money I expect to be satisfied within reason.

I have been in contact with boB so we will see if he responds to my reply. Needless to say that if KBV cant show me that they can make a good juice with throat hit, I wont be purchasing any further juice from them.

Maybe you could ask Bob or Missy to mix you a small sampler at a higher PG for you just to see if that is the issue. I find their flavors to be awesome, but I order extra flavor in the Caramel Capp and I love it love it love it. I do find his throat hit to be less than other vendors. Some vendors prefer not to do an 80% PG juice with extra flavor because the juice can be quite runny, but I sacrafice the runniness for the flavor and throat hit.

At the end of the day, you may just prefer a different vendors juice. I hope you find resolve with KBV. I have two vendors I now will exclusively order from, and KBV is one. Backwoods brew is the other (definitely order extra flavor) you sound like a "super taster" like I am, and I have been vaping for 5 months with no analogs.

I didnt ask for mine to be remixed.. lol BUT I plan to add some extra VG to them... its back to the original title of this thread...taste is so subjective.. I bet for Bob the 60 gives him a good throat hit... to me its hardly there..

nice to know they will add extra flavor.... i agree their juice is very good, but a little mild on the vaped flavor... i got a more VG than PG mix.

in comparison, VB has the richer payoff in Snickerdoodle. But overall it seems KBV doesn't produce any bombs (the bad kind).

That is always an option but I am unwilling to spend additional money to receive something I feel should have been provided already.

We are limited to selling up to 36 MG liquid per ECF request. We use only the best available PG, VG, and Nicotine, we do not use any other chemicals. Our standard mix is 60/40 VG/PG. We feel that with the quality ingredients we use we are able to achieve the perfect TH. If you prefer a different ratio please request when ordering.

I have no TH whatsoever, If I would have known that this joose would not have any TH I would not have ordered it in the first place.

That really is why I started this thread,as it is so interesting how subjective taste is,and throat hit seems to fall into that also. There are the obvious factors pg content and Nic level..beyond that,it still seems a bit of a crap shoot..There is truely no way Dgreen Bob can create the perfect throat hit for everyone.My boyfriend thinks it is perfect.. I feel like its breathing in fumes of lovely candy... Try the vodka or extra pg,OR put it up on classified and swaps and you will be surprised how fast you trade it off or sell it to someone else. Ive given up trying off nam e vendors,as what I found out ,I had a BIG fail witha couple BWB tobaccos,put them up,and was able to sell them in minutes for basically what I paid for them. In fact I did a trade for the honey flu with someone,and she sent me several samples of her juice,one of them being vaperite which I had been hesitating to order because of price. BY FAR the best thing I have ever vaped. Trading is really fun,and I made a few vaping friends that way...

i like where you are coming from, vid... there has been nothing but tons of positive over the top praise for kbv... and we've all seen the thread... with zillions of posts and quadruple that in views.

here is the other side... your viewpoint is appreciated; smells great, but flav/ TH not equivalent.

i wouldn't have figured that out... you know the smell is something that i'm sure actually could fool some, it did me.... by fool, i mean like confuse me to thinking "this has got to be good"; even though the flavor and vape, while pleasant leaves a little something missing.

then again, if i had to choose between KBV and something that was worse, or less pleasing, hell, it's KBV all day... in fact i have never seen a juice company that had so many "good" juices in the lineup.... no "bad' ones ... none. and that is really amazing.

btw, their Caramel Capp is as good as BWB imo... i'm not a TH guy bear in mind though.
