OK
Are you looking at it from the $$ making stand point?
Obviously not, since this would be the next step in the sliced bread theology.... LOL

Tbuss, I've already done this, works well as you said - but tomorrow marks my 7 day into to e-cigs...better catch up, LOL

LOL, well, you have far more use of carts than I, even at 7 days. I canned those almost the first day as I figured out rather quickly they were not great on any level and went to carto's.

The only reason i even began to look at carts again is the only liquid I have left until my order arrives is Dekang - and I despise it. So, have been playing around trying to make this stuff bearable...

Atty/Cart combo does provide a stronger hit, for a VERY short period of time... and why I started to fiddle with it...

This entire thing could be easily resolved at the manufacturing level. This is very simple. Place a wire tray 1/3 down the cart for the filler to sit on and mold it into the plastic cart. Problem solved. I just do not understand. Chinese are supposed to be brilliant engineers ....I have no engineering ability of any kind... and this is what they came up with?

I thought of a better cart in less than 10 minutes.

What about using a small piece of screen. Like in pipes or Faucet aerator?
Most of them are stainless steel to prevent rust anyway

I’m pretty much satisfied using genuine Joytech 510 cartomizers…for now…lol…

That said…I too decided to revisit the less filler cart mod discussed here…Not being a big fan of the spring …I recently tried the following and would be interested in seeing what others think of it…

What I did was take the tip off a soft cap carto(mine were the white ones)…I then shaved it in half to make it less thick…Next I cut around the hole in it as to square it off so to speak(actually I shaped it in more of a rectangle so it would fit better in the cart)…I also made it narrower than the cart walls on the smaller sides to allow more juice to be able to pass by it...Stuffed it in the empty cart far enough down to allow for about a quarter inch of filler to sit on it(and keep it away from the attorney) and filled it up…The plug sits flat in the cart but has plenty of friction to hold it in one place..and isn’t pushed down by the pressure of the attorney…Unlike the no-filler plug that needs a precice fit..this one gives you a little fudge factor...Besides the awful taste of the Hawaiian punch/coffee mixture I’m vaping(don’t ask)…It seems to perform well…The only downside is the extra room being taken up by the plug…
