I don't think there is anything wrong with it. Sorry if my post sounded like it was an issue. It's just one of those little things.
Cool! Understood!
I hope you're loving it as much as I love mine. I just had major back surgery and my wife snuck the Atlas into my room. I was stealth vaping on it for two days with a single charge. Obviously not taking huge drags but the charge lasted until I was released on Tuesday.

Oh nice!! They would have caught me because my kayfun would have been whistling Dixie!!! LOL

Sounds like you married the right woman!

Ha ha . Thanks guys
I got lucky with the Mrs. for sure. She was never a smoker so why she puts up with me I don't know.
I was sneaky at the hospital because I asked them to close the door and it also had a curtain in front of it. So when someone would come in (about every 5 damn minutes) they would knock and I would slip it back into a little pouch my wife brought. One time I took a big drag and had a mouthful when the surgeon came in and i couldn't talk. I held it and pretended to look under the blanket then blew out the vape. Holy smoke that was close.
fortunately I was smart enough to be vaping my peachango which has a pleasant fruity room note

happy vaping everyone! !

Hey Reef, I pulled the trigger on the Atlas thanks to the reviews online, what Pbusardo said and your shared experience. Ill post some of my experience with it when I get to play around with it a bit. Hope it is still performing like a champ for ya? I would like to not have to buy any other MOD for a long while now. This thing seems real well made, with a wide range of useability. I have been using two mods to get my higher wattages/lower ohm vapeing during the day, (Titan Mech) then switch to a higher ohm/lower wattage (and low nic) later at night. (SVD) This thing should fix all that lol.

It's my go to. All of my attys work on it despite the non floating pin si that's great. The only thing I'm finding irritating is that if I change out the batt and don't use the USB, sometimes the wrap on my vtc5s get stuck on the lip of the batt contacts and it distorts it a little. I have to be careful to push fairly hard down to release one end of the batt first to avoid that. Other than that it's a great, great mod.
It is great for either style of vape. Very consistent
Oh ya! Agree 100%

Purdy!
Remember to chew the shroom and not vape it

I got a panasonic ncr18650b for the hell of it and have a .8 ohm coil pushing 30 watts. I've been going 6 hours strong on it with no heat and only about a 3/4 drain so far. I'll be picking up some of the panty 2900 mah's soon because my friends seem to get more vape time and consistency from them than the vtc5s. I still use the vtc5s though on my mechs.

One issue I have is with the battery door. If a tank leaks, the juice can easily get inside the device. It's the same problem as the IPV2. Today I had a Fogger V4 leak due to a change in the weather and it caused a huge mess. Now I'm stuck at work without the allen key to open up my Atlas and make sure that juice hasn't gotten into the electronics.

Hey Reef, just wanted to mention a few things, Ive had the Atlas a few days now and realllllly like it. I was a little disappointed you cant "manually" change the Wattage, that you are always on a memory preset. But that is a non issue now, Im so fast with the gravity settings that if I want to change wattage to get to another preset, it is faster than manually changing it LOL. I have 12 watts in M1 for the Kayfun, and 16-28 in the other presets for my Plume Veil, and Zenith toppers.

One thing I would keep an eye on that I ascertained from your post I quoted, is about that NCR battery. (at 3400 Mah I assume?) It is a great battery BUT has a max amp output of 6.8 Amps continuous. With that configuration your running around 6.2 amps which I imagine is enough of a buffer, albeit on the edge. But if you up the wattage a little to 38-39 watts, or drop the resistance to .6 you will then be over 7 amps of draw; Over the NCR's limit

I have 4!! Panasonic NCR batts from my SVD days that still work great and I want to use them, but Im careful to not put the lower resistance attys on when they are in there. Since I can mess that up easily as I like to change attys on the Atlas, I decided to stick with the VTC4 or 5 (30 amp limit) and use the NCR's for lighter vapeing like the SVD/Kayfun combo at 1.7 and 12 watts. anyhoo

I keep a Ohms law app on my iphone now to quickly check my resistance/wattage combos. Works great, lasts a long time lol, and free

P.S Come to think of it, I haven't seen many conversations about this point, that these new generation of HIGH power REGULATED devices are fantastic, and take away some risk by having protections built into the board. EXCEPT that the Atlas (and DNA Sigelie etc) does not know the battery amp limit of any particular battery so there is no protection there. If we put a 6.8 amp battery in a regulated device and then a RDA build that is drawing 9 amps, we WILL have a problem, or venting.

A place some call paradise
That's true. On the site for most of these devices they recommend using at least a 20amp battery. If the mod is capable of going to those extremes and if you ever intend to do so, it's not worth the risk to use a battery not rated for the max.
Be careful with these. There is not much for air allowed for venting so if you screw up I assume it's a boom boom situation.

On a regulated device, the amp draw from the battery has nothing to do with the resistance of the atomizer. It is calculated by the voltage from the battery and the wattage settiing. With a 6.8A battery you do not want to go over 24 watts. At 30 watts on a full charge you're pushing around 7.5-8A.

The important message here is that vaping with a regulated device at 30W on a 6.8A battery is not safe, regardless of the resistance of the coils in the atomizer. Note that the battery amp draw goes *up* as the voltage goes *down*. You also have to take into consideration the efficiency of the device. So at 3.5V / 30W, the amp draw is probably closer to 9.4A

Yep, Stan is going into more electrical theory than most, but the jist here that is important is to KNOW the AMP LIMIT of your battery (Continuous not pulse) and then use all these free apps and websites to calculate what AMPS your battery is being forced to upload to your build.

I used the resistance in my discussion because as Vapers we are mostly all familiar with it and makes it easier to identify what you are dealing with. Example if Reef was vaping at 30W on his regulated Atlas with a 1.4 Ohm build he would only be asking 4.62 AMPS of the battery. Much better for an NCR and --my opinion-- then not a problem. When you take that same 30W setting and put a topper on it with a .5 build you rocket up to 7.90 AMPS. So that's why I mention coil build Stan. It is a language a lil more familiar that we can adjust or manipulate. Your example of 3.5 VOLTS at 30 watts would HAVE to be with .4 resistance (Atty build for us vapers) according to Ohms law I believe buddy. (8.6 AMPS on this calculator Im using)

But again, probably the best way to handle this? As Stan and I mentioned, just skip the NCR, and maintain a 20-30 AMP battery in your high power monsters like the Atlas/Dna. They are not expensive, chargers are not expensive, and when we are lazy we can just plug em into the computer to charge lol. Lots of good chatter on this board somewhere about Samsung batteries and LG also now available that are 20-25 AMP capable. Takes the worry out a bit
