First they upped the tax on Cigs so high that started ordering on line from Kentucky. Then they started hassleing people for the tax on that so I switched to Roll Your Own RYO. I actually liked the change to RYO as I found a forum and realized that I could smoke a better cig for less. Then they went and put a huge tax increase on that about 300%. So I was looking into alternatives to that and came across vaping. I almost bought into one of the free trial deals but decided to look around and sure enough I found this forum and it has helped me to make the decision to switch to vaping.

I wonder how many others there are like me. Who got ticked off at all the tax and decided to give Vaping a try?

I don't think I will save anything over RYO but my health, taste buds and sense of smell but I think that should be reason enough to stick with it. I'm still waiting on my kits to come in so I can't comment on my experience so far.

I did the exact thing you did, went to RYO and was saving about 1/2 the money and was ok with me, but it wasn't 3 or 4 weeks after I started that they raised the tabacco so much it was cheaper to just buy the cigs. Got tired of paying $50 a carton and ran across the e-cig forum, ordered my 510 and after 3 or 4 days I haven't touched a cig since.

The taxes on analogs is crazy. The last time I bought a pack of analogs was in Arizona last month. I payed $7.50 for the pack and just about passed out. I should have told him to keep the cigs, but I didn't. This is one of the main reason for switching to e-cigs. I can buy a couple 30mg bottles of juice for 30 bucks and have enough to last me way more than a month. That is only a four day supply of analogs.

Greetings everyone...
Long time lurker, first time poster.

For me, it was 1 1/2 years of trying to quit for my 1 1/2 year old daughter. After about 25 years of smoking 1 to 3 packs a day, I always told myself that I'd quit when I had a kid. Slowed down a few times to under a half a pack, but I always found it way to easy to pick it right back up again for almost any excuse. I never smoked around her or in the house, but still I knew I should quit.

So, as I was working at a Sportsman show, I saw a guy (member of this forum) puffing on a Joye 510. I asked him about it, and in the little bit of time we both had, he gave me enough details to spark my interest.

Long story short, I received my 510 3 days ago at 2:30 pm, and haven't lit an analog since. Partly because of the novelty of it, (I'm into gadgets) but mostly because of the Nic delivery and the close resemblance to smoking analogs.

Just starting my search for my favorite flavors, but that's part of the fun!

Oh yes, the money I'll save IS another incentive. :)

And a very big thank you to all posters here. You've been a huge help in my educated intro to vaping.

I started vaping because all other methods of quitting analogs I had tried failed me. To me this is NOT like quitting smoking, it's replacing it with something that tastes better, smells better, and from what I can tell is MUCH better for my health. The fact that analogs are now being taxed to death made the switch that much sweeter!
