Vicki...I tried several times to respond to your loss, it is hard because I am really connected to it.
I too have a rescued torti....she is 14...her previous owner was going to put her to sleep 'cause her new boyfriend does not like cats and she was too old (10 !)
...she cuddles, she talks, she trills, she sits and stares at me !! And sometimes I think she prays, she will sit tall and pretty and trill softly at the ceiling.....over and over......
I have cried deeply for your loss.....

Thank you each and everyone for all of your kind words and furever hugs, it means the world to me.

My maine coone is wandering the house looking for her, I think he knows, he gave her alot of "bumps & bruises" along the way, including a concussion at one time a few years back.

I started letting him outside this summer and while he doesn't stay out long, I suspect he brought someting into the house that he "shared" with her. I knew I shouldn't have let him out, but the dog was egging him on and he always stuck to the yard, so I thought what the heck, he & the dog stalked the rabbits, but the dog was faster.......go figure hu?

Both of the cats had been doctoring for a while & she just didn't have enough in her to fight it, I just didn't want her to suffer. While my maine coone is much bigger (not fat, just extremely long) he's down weight too and the vet just cant figure it out.

VChick, I'm so sorry for your loss. It's so wonderful that you gave her a loving home and she returned it to you with so much loving companionship.
