What a great story, a story of survival, of human companionship, of witness to the miracle called human empathy. Hope we can all take this to heart and PIF until you see the results. Let's not judge, for who knows one day you may be in that position yourself. The only time I feel like leaving this group is when the bickering starts and the group falls into little kids, telling on eachother because they "can".
Oh it's not that bad guys......just one noobie didn't get what PIF was really suppose to be...I dont think he was Trying to harm anyone with his actions.

I just watched a Farrah Fawcett movie on TV the other night....it was sad....she was being abused by an abusive, controlling husband and I just wanted to reach into the screen and kill the guy. Your story above is a good one and I am glad you made it out alive. We need to remind ourselves that some people are not as lucky in love and life as we are and help as many as we can. Pay it Forward, my friends and you will feel it in your heart.

He's constantly employed (which the other almost never was), he's in the national guard, he loves me and my children, and after his next deployment in Iraq, we're getting married and going to be adding children of our own. He's the love of my life, with a heart of gold. He would never lay a hand on me, and rarely has anything negative to say about anyone, let alone me. He listens to all my ramblings without complaint, and he says I'm perfect, wonderful, beautiful, funny and intelligent.
Doesn't mean I'll forget what happened to me, but I am forever grateful to my friend.

I gotta tell you, Asharp, I've been in the exact situation you were in post #1.
The one who was my friend, who saved my life, is my hubby now. I bend a knee every morning and night and thank God for him.

You'll bring tons of baggage and he'll accept it, I remember when we first got married and hubby pulled off his belt, not thinking about, just a quick tug, I screamed and dove under the bed. He cried. I'd never seen a man cry. It broke my heart.
There are some days when I read things like I read this morning on "that other thread" and I wanna just give up on here. There are days I just don't feel like caring (having some physical problems)
Then I read a thread like this one and realize that the spirit of hope is still out there and there are some good people in the world.

Awwwww...sweetheart!!!! I was soooooo angry reading ur first post! But knowing how wonderful things have turned out for you makes my heart smile! Every one of us has had some stumble, or ripple in our lives that we wish we could forget .. or never happened, but then we wouldnt be who we are today..
