Okay tech question maybe you all can answer as I'm really new to vaping anything but the Blu brand ecigs so this is all new to me.

I've just started noticing an occasional burnt taste in my stuff. 900mAh eGo-C Twist and Kanger ProTank II Mini. This stuff is all less than a week old. It's slight and not every rip but it's definitely there. I've heard the coils on the pt2 can sometimes be a little finicky but I'm totally clueless on potential reasons for why it'd be happening now when it's worked fine till then. Any thoughts?

It's about wattage - the combination of the voltage used on the Twist and the resistance (ohms) of the coil. Since you have a variable battery, the coil resistance isn't as important. The other factor is whether you are vaping a 'strong' flavor - tobacco, coffee, chocolate, etc. or a light flavor - fruit, berries, vanilla, etc. Stronger flavors usually need more wattage and light flavors can be washed out or burnt with high wattage.

It would be a good idea to either start with a new coil or clean the one that you have - soak it in high proof vodka - best unflavored and uncolored - for about a half hour and that should remove any burnt flavor from the coil and wicking.

Then set your Twist to 3.2 Volts and try it out. IF it's still too 'hot' then you may have to change to a higher ohm coil. The PTII's come in 1.5, 1.8, 2.2 and 2.4-2.6 ohms. If you're using a 1.8 ohm coil, then try the 2.2 ohm coil.

If no burning at 3.2 volts, then dial it up to 3.4, then 3.6, etc. until you taste some burnt then dial it back. Note the ohm rating of the coil and the voltage for that flavor. Each flavor may have a different wattage where it tastes good, where you get good vapor without burning.

You should have gotten a card with you PT use that card. It's a lot easier to use than this spread sheet but you may want to keep it for a later time.View attachment ecig calculators.xlsx
There are a bunch of tabs on this spread sheet you may not ever use. The one marked Single coil wattage is the one most used.
