Our primary responsibility is to do all we reasonably can to keep our kids as safe as possible as much as possible. That said, kids always have and will continue to find ways to do idiotic things. Thankfully, the lessons gleaned from such experimentation is usually not terribly detrimental to one's health. Sadly, sometimes it will be. I've seen and heard of many of such idiotic experimentations over the years. Kids have been ingesting prescription and nonprescription meds, energy drinks, alcohol, street drugs, "designer" drugs, poisons like household cleaners and even industrial floor-stripping compounds etc etc etc. looking for said "buzz"! Other than locking them away from the world (which would only delay their experimentation) the only thing we can really do is teach and instill in them a sense of morality, common sense and self worth. Horribly, those that are THAT willing to not listen to "common sense" (when TOLD) are destined to be a piece of the natural selection puzzle....learn or weed yourself out. Sad but true:( Legislation and/or demonizing items or compounds only adds to the enticement!:2c:

I believe there's an award for that natural selection thing and from what I recall the winner has always been an adult. There's always someone just aching for that one second of fame, young or old.

I really liked the Darwin Award for last year. A robber decided to pull the trigger on his proposed victim. When the revolver didn't fire, he turned it around and looked down the barrel and pulled the trigger. That's looking for some kind of award.

Yeh, Gutfeld needs to get on this. Its highly suspect in my view. Drinking nic juice, having to navigate the digestive system before entering the blood stream would take longer than inhaling (going the route of membranes to the blood stream) AND the quantity required for a "kick" getting it that way would cause vomiting first. JMHO opinion of course but... yeh... "junk science" and/or propaganda... musta been a boring news day.

Edit: Tried to suppress it but have to rant. I've watched Fox for years (no lets NOT debate the value of that) and have become increasingly frustrated with it between O'Reilly's maniacal ego increasing since he no longer has Glen's competition, his "Tips" and the new health show, the name of the show and the name of the woman who MCs it escape me. Actually I think I have a mental block where its concerned as the last one I watched she and her guest were getting gestapoish on caffeine. IMHO, that's the next target by the food police. I've gotten to where I simply can't stomach O'Reilly anymore and can't her either so am no longer watching those shows but still watch Greta, Kelly, The Five and Red Eye regularly. Actually, the ecig issue/news is a good way for me to tell just how honest the reporting is.

Well said 69CameroSS -- Btw, the 68 was my dream car. Also, I'm originally from Greenville. Hello from Athens. ;)
Common sense is uncommon in today's world it would seem. Superficial Legislations hurts society, but you can't tell most people that because they are way to uninformed imo.

Thank you Sirius.

I still remember when the local convenience store stopped carrying butane lighter refills. I asked the manager why, and he said "All the stock keeps disappearing and I find the empty cans out by the dumpster. My employees were huffing it, so I had to stop carrying it". I was aghast, to say the least. And for a while there, kids were huffing any aerosol they could get their hands on.

And kids more recently have had all kinds of trouble with energy drink-alcoholic mixes. Serious problems, like dying.

Even without the alcohol, there have been serious cases of caffeine overdoses from energy drinks. What teenager can resist the lure of "Bet you can't chug those 6 energy shots in 2 minutes"?

Stupid is as stupid does. Fortunately, for most of us it's just a phase. The rest apparently go into journalism.

I found an interesting one at YouTube. Homeopathic FDA approved non addictive nicotine water.
inFocus - A New Smoke Free Alternative. - YouTube

That's really interesting... FDA approved this as a non-tobacco product if I heard right. I guess because the nicotine source isn't tobacco. I would say someone should get on economical ways of getting nic from other plant sources like they have but then the ANTZ would just find a way around that. I wonder if they've already got plans to go after e-cig zero nic. Guess I'm just getting cynical?

GreenSmoke is using eggplant as a source. Saw that on some link but it's hard to find and as I understand, it takes a lot of eggplant to get the same amount of nic. But it's the same chemical formula, just the sourcing is different. There's also:

Lobelia | University of Maryland Medical Center

... which was discussed here early on when the FDA 2009 "findings" came out.

According to their own website....

inLife products have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.
InFocus is a alcohol-free Smoking Alternative Drink that is registered with the FDA as a Homeopathic Nicotinum Complex Formula

Homeopathic as described by the FDA...

CPG Sec. 400.400 Conditions Under Which Homeopathic Drugs May be Marketed

2. Section 211.165 (Testing and release for distribution): In the Federal Register of April 1, 1983 (48 FR 14003), the Agency proposed to amend 21 CFR 211.165 to exempt homeopathic drug products from the requirement for laboratory determination of identity and strength of each active ingredient prior to release for distribution.

Pending a final rule on this exemption, this testing requirement will not be enforced for homeopathic drug products.

Perhaps we can tell them e-cigs are homeopathic.....:2cool:
