When I had first started vaping my puppy got a hold of one of my 30ml, 24mg and went to town on it. He ingested a fair amount of it and showed no signs of being anything other than a puppy. I understand the precautions that need to be taken with vaping a whole lot better now than when I first started and I recognize the potential toxicity of nicotine. I also realize that it's gotta take a fairly large dose to make some one sick or die. Adult or child. Plus not everyone has the same mg of nic in their liquid. Nicotine must be respected but it aint arsenic.
Yeah you never see the stats for poison control/ER calls on nicotine gum and patches... odd, isn't it?
This is an obvious lie. The calls to poison control for e-liquid poising are minuscule. These reports are also skewed since many calls are inquiries rather than reports such as "He had a taste of XXXX should I go to the hospital"?
Yup, when it comes to small kids, this is how I feel too. For this to work it needs to be communicated that nicotine can be dangerous in large quantities, just like a whole lot of other dangers are communicated. There are a surprising number of toddlers that eat cigarettes and end up in the hospital too.
People will be people though and that includes parents. IMO the best deal for us is bottles that are properly child proof because mistakes will happen.
As far as teenagers or adults abusing nicotine there's no way anyone will be able to control that without banning the stuff, but the same is true for alcohol, glue, solvents, etc. Unfortunately for us this is just another thing the ANTZ can use against us.
I agree. When pressed by the Pro-Child People, I admit sadly that "I'm unable to have children."
Inevitably, this leads the pushy, pain in my .... person to ask, "Why not?"

Besides, I have two dogs and huge gardens. That's more than enough for me.
Hmmm, I remember when they banned, restricted sales on the model airplane cement I used for years (only on models). Be careful in what you deem "they can never....."
Daughters sold chocolate bars for school and outside school activities. Full box of bars sitting in the middle of the dinning room table. A few hours later. The box is on the floor. Wrappers and all gone. One of beagle is running around the house like crazy. She ate them all. A drive to the vet and 600 bucks latter. Not once, not twice but three times this happened. Needless to say we had to buy the box of chocolate bars too. The 3rd time, I said I guess we will find out in the morning what happens. Kids in tears.. I drove her to the vet at midnight. The vet spent the night with her. That one was an expensive trip.
Many things can be toxic to human and animals. Should we be warned that our liquids could be dangerous? Yes. Look in the cabinet under any of my sinks. Many poisonous things in there. Problem is... we have graduated from a society that the individual takes responsibility to a society where we have to blame someone or something. Basically, "It's not your fault if you are stupid." (Not you but you in general)
We has a case in my country a few months ago that a small child died after drinking his father's ejuice.
Nicotine is lethal in high enough dosage, especially to children and it's quite a horrible death.
On the other hand, children are known to do many stupid things like inhaling air conditioner gas, sniffing glue, drinking too much alchohol for their own good, and many other such things.
It's the responsibility of parents to stop children from doing stupid things.
I don't see anyone trying to ban bleach and anti freeze, but i bet some kids drank those too.

ban gasoline children can drink it and die
ban pencils and pens they can be used as weapons
ban toilet paper it can be a choking hazard for small children
ban paper they can cause bad paper cuts and hurt which is bad for children
ban cars some teens are now drinking and driving them causing wrecks and death
ban lighters teens are using them to burn smiley faces on their skin
ban EVERYTHING because everything is potentially dangerous.
fox news just reports on stupid stuff why because they need something to talk about things come and go so quick on the news i would barely call this an attack on e-cigs so i am in no way worried about it it is just something to talk about for a few minutes then its on to the next topic.
Toddlers love to eat cigarettes too. At least mine did. We had to make sure we kept them way out of reach.
I have two VG flavors that actually do taste pretty good. Maybe it is because they are natural flavors..idk..but I've licked it off my hand and off my lips when i accidentally get it on me. Pretty delicious! I don't think I could drink it though. Too thick and gooey.
People should know better. Keep this stuff away from your kids! Basic principals of parenting! Same with your pets!
Teens are just dumb. You can take it away from them, but they'll just go to the next dumb thing like sniffing sharpies. It never ends with them. We've had teens in the ER before for chugging a 6 pack of energy drinks in a row.

Yup, ultimately we can really ban anything. And some alcohol, glues and solvents are banned for good reason. Guess my point was that these things can and are abused and are still not banned so there is precedence for certain levels of risk being accepted in society.
