initially i was so fascinated by the concept i just wanted to try it for kicks. plus, i was getting really tired of having to get my teeth bleached every year, washing my hands after every cig so i don't stink only to have them dry and rough instead, and the (at the time) upcoming tax increase really ...... me off too...

when surfing the net, I stumble across a pop-up ad introducing e-cig; an alternative to smoking sensation. Then start google to look for this magnificent gadget.
It then hit my mind, since I’ve no interest in quitting; why not try out a safer way to smoke. And now here I am vaping with the PV ever since.

I was at work one day and saw some co-workers using the QuantumCig that they had purchased the week before. Came home that night and told my wife about it and she was absolutely floored. She cared not how much it cost (shes a non smoker) and wanted me to get one right away. Went to the mall and paid 180 (with liquid and carts) for my first unit and have been vaping ever since. I haven't completely cut analogs out of my day but I've cut myself down from 2/3 packs per day to maybe half pack at most, and I don't smoke them in the house anymore.
I've smoked for almost 18 years and never thought that I would be able to cut back as much as I have. eCigs have shown me that it is possible where all other avenues have failed.

Local gas stations started selling the Smoke51 kits and a friend bought one. He told me how much he liked it, so I spent the $100 on it. After buying it, I found I was smoking a lot less. I started looking on the internet and found this site which helped me find a e-cig that was a better fit for me. After buying a Kissbox in early April, I haven't had an analog since. I didn't plan on completely quitting analogs, but it just ended up that way. I guess I owe it to the local tobacco distributor for stocking the gas stations.
I had actually already started the process of quiting with the patch (for the umteenth time), but even with the patch was still smoking a couple of analogs a day. I heard an advertisement on the radio for a disposable e-cig. Checked it out, didn't really like it, but was on a mission and started doing research. I got my first PV on 4/16, haven't had an analog since the 17th (and yes I stopped using the patch) and I haven't looked back.
Now I just need to figure out how to curb this addiction with buying PVs. I think I have finally settled on the Kissbox, now I just have to figure out how to sell all my other stuff to regain some of my money (before my husband kills me and this was all in vain).

Hello! I just got my first e-cig Monday, I have not had a analog cig seance then. I live in Madison WI. and listen to talk radio the host of my fav show is Vicky McKinna. She is always trying to quit smoking and has tried everything. She was talking about e-cigs a while back and said that it was really working for her. I when home and googled c-cigs found this board and bought the Health E-cigarettes in the green and white box. Well it is working for me so far, I have my fingers crossed

I tried it for my health. I felt what the analogs where doing to me and I didn't like it one bit!
I had already made up my mind to quit, or at least try. I was on day three and having Nicfits like crazy. I also wanted my wife to try and quit, she said she couldn't do it cold turkey, she has/had tried every other form of smoking cessation available with no luck. She went on line and found a website about E-cigs. Actually I think it was the Njoy website. She called me in to look at it. I saw what she was trying to show me and got mad. I yelled, I am doing my best to quit, and am jonesing like crazy and you show me a picture of a cigarette. She explained what it was and I walked out of the room to through another Nicfit. LOL. The next day, I got the courage to look into them, not for me, but to see if this would be a viable option for her. I soon discovered that I could also get zero nic liquid as well. So I ordered two kits, one for her with nicotine and one for me without.
Using Zero Nicotine and being able to vape without it was enough to keep me from going back to Cigarettes, which I most certainly would have done. After over 35 years of heavy smoking I am now cigarette and nicotine free. And I will continue to vape my zero nic, not because I have to, or need to, but because I want to.

I was angry about the tobacco tax. I saw a post on a thread of people complaining about the tobacco tax, where someone mentioned eCigs as an alternative. That got me googling, and I found this forum.
I became immediately interested in what everyone was saying. I noticed that almost universally, that people loved thier eCigs. I was a little reluctant, because there was a lot of talk about the ban.
Then a good friend told me that her neighbor had bought one, and she was impressed. She's a non smoker, but she said that she would allow people to use one in her house. I guess that's what put me over the top.
I've been analog free for 10 days now!

Lots of reasons.
First of all, the American Spirits I've smoked for years just increased to $7.25 a pack in April. Smoking 1 1/2 packs a day is putting me in the poorhouse fast.
Second, I'm tired of being a slave to cigarettes. Oregon just went non-smoking so it's either freeze outside in the rain to smoke or find a place with a patio and heaters -- non-smoking friends complain about going to the same 2 bars all the time, lol.
I've thought about hypnosis, but I'm going to try this first, maybe do a combination of the two. I have no willpower, tried to quit dozens of times and haven't made it longer than a week in 15 years.
I found e-cigarettes at one of those mall kiosks. The guy seemed shady to me and $150 is a lot of money for an impulse buy, but it was enough to get doing research. I found this forum and am now impatiently waiting for my new 901 to arrive!

Same here. I was really upset because the tobacco tax the government imposes is completely immoral. It is like a drug dealer giving you free samples until you are addicted and than openly robs you. If you consider that the low-income group has the largest proportion of smokers, the tax is hurting the people that can afford it the least. But spending over $10 on a pack is ridiculous for anyone.
