I have searched multiple threads and forums for temperatures of steeping with heat.
I've seen the following:
Room Temperature
Body Heat Temperature
In a dark drawer temperature
93 Degrees Centegrade (Seems very hot to me)
Hot water out of the tap Temperature
Hot rice out of a microwave temperature
Crock pot / Slow Cooker on low temperature

I happen to have very precise Sous Vide water bath equipment so I can maintain most any temperature for days if necessary.

Does anyone know what the temperature of the Slow Cooker on low method is?

How does 140deg F for 4 hours sound?

Any suggestions?

Ok. That sounds fine.
Now I am confused about something else.
I read in other threads about the horror of leaving your juice in your car and having it go bad.
Isn't that the same thing as steeping with heat?
I would not think the car interior would exceed 150 degrees unless on a very hot day. I live in Texas and keep a thermometer in my car. Even on a 105 degree day, the inside temp is only around 135degrees.

Heat steeping to speed up the steeping process is a good thing. Keeping juice under heat for the life of the juice is a bad thing. Once the juice is steeped and ready keep it at room temperature. Think of it as food. You would heat a meal to cook it and get it ready for dinner then you would refrigerate the leftovers reheat and serve until gone. If you finished your meal and kept the left overs heated until ready to serve the next day they would be ruined. So cook your juice and then store at room temperature and your juice will stay good until it is all vaped up whether it be 3 or 6 months down the road. Heck I've had juice I've heat steeped stay good over a year.
