Hey guys,

I bought 2 of the blue Tenergy rcr123 900mah batteries and the Tenergy charger from Vapor Kings when I ordered my GGTS. Charged them up last night and checked the voltage (on 3 different DMMs) and they each measured 4.1 volts.

That seems really high for a 3v battery and was curious if this is normal. I searched some other posts but got kinda confused as to what the answer was so I figured I would ask the erudite vapers here. Thanks in advance for any help! My cartos were hissing like rattlesnakes at 8.2 volts8-o

Nice. I just ordered some of these for my Chuck. I have a Prodigy that regulates the power at 5 volts so I ordered a Chuck and these batteries for some serious power. On the Chuck, if I don't like the 6 or 8 volts I can throw in an 18650 battery instead.

I can't answer your question as to the norm, but I'll be watching this thread for replies-from-the-wise.

This is normal from what Ive seen from various flashlight forums. The tenergys are higher voltage than "normal" 123a's and the higher voltage will fry some LED flashlights. I dont mind since Im using a 5v regulator, but may be an issue wif you are attempting to vape at 6v. I dont have any data around how long that initial charge voltage will last under load.

Are these the 3V batteries that have all of the problems I've been reading about? I've avoided 3V batteries of any kind, after reading (skimming, really) a few posts about people having trouble with them going dead if they aren't "matched". I really don't remember the exact cause, something about the electronics inside.

The only issue I've had with our green/blue Tenergy 3.0v batteries is when I was using a Boge 510 atomizer that was about 2 weeks old. When I stuck it on my desktop power supply rig and measured it with a ammeter, it was pulling 2.8 amps...which apparently was enough to trip the protection circuit on the batteries. The same atomizer brand new pulled only about 1.9 amps.
