Terrible at DIY? I am... and now I can make stuff I'll actually vape.

okay... sorry I muffed the title... can't edit it without emailing an admin, so please don't let it bug you too much ;-)

DIY has always appealed to me because of cost... and creativity etc...

I have tried it three times.

By "try" I mean I have invested about $100+/- in flavors, nic, bases, safety equipment etc... each time.
-and at best, I make a flavor that is vapable... but I don't care for it. so I end up selling or giving everything away.

So... I tried a 4th time...

It started by accident.

I started buying wholeecig wta base with nic... it's great unflavored... but they sent a small sample of wedding cake flavoring... so I dropped a little in there and it was better.

So... for my 4th time... I bought some Nic liquid... 25mg from xtremevaping and I bought a few of my favorite flavorings from Decadent Vapors... I think DV has the best flavorings out there... my opinion. You can get them at their uk site or Liberty Flights.

Now, I am adding a single flavor to some unflavored nic from xtremevaping...
sometimes two or three flavorings at a time.

Anyway, it started by going slowly...
buying higher end nic... flavorings that I absolutely love...
I knew I liked DV because that was the flavoring company used by one of my favorite vendors... so I was familiar with the flavor profiles.

I wanted to share this because it's more than a fad for me now.
It's been weeks instead of days.
Almost at a month.

and even though I am not performing any complex mixing... and I feel like I made a cake with an easy-bake oven...

It's still much more inexpensive... and I really like what I am making...

So, if you suck or have given up... but want to give it another go...

why not try buying some higher end nic, flavoring you know you love and trying it more simply?

I'm glad it's coming around for you (finally).
I think I've spent $300 on DIY supplies for the equivalent of $60 of juice
It's fun though, and it will be cheaper in the long run, not to mention making the juice available whenever I want it, not just when it's in stock at the store. DIY stuff won't replace all of the liquids we like, but that's OK too; it'll give me something to shoot for and help keep it interesting.

I wrote a post on very simple DIY.
Brain Dead Guide to 100% VG DIY- If your IQ is higher than 80 you can make this recipe!

Before you give up, invest $20.00 and try my recipe.
The Organic Flavors beat the artificial hands down and require no steeping.

Wish I saw this before

A while back, you listed some flavors in a thread asking what we think you should do with them. You mentioned that you made a frozen banana bubblegum that you liked, or maybe it was just frozen banana. Anyway, I have my own version of that now and I really like it, actually vaping it as I type this. Just wanted to say thanks for the good idea and keep mixing.

Glad to see your making progress. Keep at it. Most people find a flavor catagory and then stick with it. For example I've tried fruits, candies and tobaccos and found I don't like overly sweet or fruty or even overly creamy mixes. I tend to stay with the drier less sweet tobacco mixes. So I've taylored my every day flavors to those types. I still buy my fruits creams and candies in hopes of finding an interesting mix but I still always fall back to the drier less sweet mixes. It's all part of the DYI adventure so stick with it experiment and have fun with it. I'm sure you'll find your favorite catagory soon.

i mostly do single fruit flavors so i can easily rule out which vendors flavors are not palatable , but i have to say i got lucky with a recipe i call fruit cocktail which has 5 fruits , i guess even a blind bird can find a worm every now and then lol , just dont have the impression that when you start diy that your gonna vape only what you make and say good bye to the high priced e liquids out there on the net

Cool.

Yeah, the frozen banana bubble gum and the bishy's peppermint ice cream variation were the only two that I ever really enjoyed... but they were a bit too sweet and flavorful to be vaped more than once in a while for me...
