I've experienced this for several days now and as I stated in one thread, a page refresh sometimes takes me backward instead of refreshing the page.Gateway timeouts and 30 seconds refresh make it very(almost impossible) difficult to use.

Same here. It's been off and on since I joined ECF, but really bad lately. And only on ECF. I don't have this issue on other forums I visit.
Yes I agree Calamity, answers, not reasons why, ratios, math class, computers 101...just simple reasonable answers that we all can understand and look forward to a remedy to help the forum...

Yeah, the last 48 hours or so--much slower than usual. I tried Chrome on my desktop and Safari on my iPad... IE9 is even slower.
Last night and this morning were the worst. Now it's picking up a bit--or so it seems.

Whiskey, there won't be any banning, we are a community with only the best interest of all in our heart.
It just doesn't make sense that other huge forums with lotza members and threads never display these issues. I'm sure Admin wants to hear our concerns and will also be relieved to get the problems resolved.
Tapatalk on my iPhone/iPad seems to run a bit smoother than the full site on my desktop/laptop. Just FYI

Basically the same set up here as well and having the same issues with ECF. This is the only place I frequent with the lag and 504 errors.
Pretty much what everybody else has said. I know it's not my 'puter. Dual Xeon quad-core E5506s @ 2.13 GHZ, 12GB RAM, Win7 Enterprise x64. I get ~30Mbps D/L speed w/ everyone in the neighborhood @ home & online.
ECF has been wonky for quite some time now, and no place else is having these same issues. I'm beginning to think my name is 504 Error & ECF is making fun of me.
That's really funny but I'm afraid to laugh for fear that you do not jest!
cj, congaman is not alone in having no problems; but there are way too many of us who do. i really believe it's the luck of the draw through which of ecf's servers you connect.
Come to think of it I saw in a thread a year back I do believe...
That some got around the server lock by logging out and back in (cookies cleared). You may just switch servers was the defense.
Don't know about you all but I'm set to "remember me" and so log in with an open of a tab.
so a assume I've been on the same server for a long time. Time for a switch and a test...
This also notes that the problem is not new and ppl have been wanting a solve for years.......

I read somewhere on ECF that we have reached 100,000 registered users. Maybe when the boat is full the motor won't push it anymore (metaphorical analogy intended).
