Gee Pokey did not know you were that old. :p Then i suppose your familiar with the party lines on the rotary phones also.
Surely you recall a rotary phone in you house no ?

Not only do I REMEMBER rotary phones...I used to SELL them...Oyyyyy. Of course, I was only about 10 when I started working for Ma Bell!

Yes, I remember party lines - great fun to pick up and listen in if you could lift the receiver without the tell-tale click, lol.

And most definitely rotary phones. It sure slowed me down on calling the radio stations for those contests. I won once - a 45.

I always had troubles finding the yellow-thingy too, Techno (one of y'all probably remember what it is/was called; I have CRS and don't) :D.

Back on the bus I go - only to return later to torment visit y'all.

back in the old hood we had a very large factory called Western Electric that made phone products and had in its hey day about 40,000 workers we had some large parking lots right on the corner of our block.
I used to set up a lemonade stand in the summer, then later sold scratch sheets and newspapers in front of the factory at one of the gates.
Then later as a teen i streaked thru there parking lot. :)
