We have Stop & shop here. We had A&P, but they closed their stores around here. There was a joke going around that they were going to merge and change their name to Stop & P.

It takes a brave soul to peruse the meat counter at the Pig, I can assure you. So many things/faces looking back at you, so many feets, and tails, and pieces and parts of all sorts.
A gourmet's delight. Not.

That describes the hot dogs sold at 7-11s pretty well. Except for mention of sawdust and floor sweepings.
The gross part is that it's true. I watched a show about how hot dogs are made. Needless to say, I've never eaten one since. Not that I cared much for them to begin with.
My Dad worked for the A&P for 40 years. He would bring it home and I loved it, until I read the ingredients. Then I didn't love it anymore.
When I was young, we used to eat "blood pudding", I think it's a French Canadien thing. It was tasty, but I haven't had any in years.
