Actually TT! Mardi Gras is famous for its Fat Tuesday, which is always the day before Ash Wednesday which starts Lent! I guess it was a way to get all the vices done before giving them up for Lent!

No, no marti gras is the day before lent so you can hoot it up one last time before lent starts. Fat Tuesday.
