Oh, Techno, I absolutely LOVE IT, LOL!! I have been working my 'tukus' off. We are having new flooring installed (hopefully early next week) in our master bedroom and guest room. I have been removing the old carpet, cleaning drapes, etc...

Arg, nothing like a good spring cleaning huh??
I'm trying to pick out new drapes & what a chore!!
Plus I'm cheap. I may just sew them myself.

Oh, I really wish I could sew them myself!! I don't know how to sew. I found some material I like, but it would be more than I want to spend to get someone to sew them for me. They need to be inexpensive, because my cats will probably ruin them!

Curtains aren't too hard to sew. Just bulky & stuff, but basically, just a big square/rectangle.
And the fabric is expensive too - so I'll see. Our picture window takes a 125inch x 85 inch curtain set & I want pinch pleats, which apparently are out of fashion now...everything is the big tabs or holes!

My flooring project is on hold. Still waiting for the DH to help me pick out tiles/flooring. I am going to hire it out now. I think I will remove the old stuff. It seems I might be putting this off again.

I have to replace the carpet in my bedroom and guest bedroom. My cats have behavior problems, and pee in the carpet :( I am tired of trying to keep them cleaned and treated for the odor. So, we are putting in vinyl plank... looks like wood but less expensive and hopefully resistant to cat pee. I am going to have them installed, but I opted to take out the old carpet myself. To save money, and I'd be embarrassed for anybody to see/smell the carpets!!

But, I don't even own a sewing machine. I remember when I took Home Ec in junior high... the teacher told me if I "broke one more needle" I was going to have to pay for them, LOL!!

I know the feeling. I want the carpeting gone yesterday. CAts and carpet don't mix well. I have a whole house to replace. I looked into the vinyl plank at Home depot and another local carpet store. It seems like it would take a beating..You will have to let me know what you think after installation.

I was watching one of those home dec shows on TV & this house had cement flooring, so they could hose it off - weird, but effective. They were painting/staining the cement with different shades of blue so it looked like a night sky & it was really cool!
