Morning gang! Thanks for the donut Kspace...Is that guy at the beach a good Catholic, or is he planning on meeting up with some vampires? Also - is he single? I have some friends I need to warn!

Hope you're all having a good weekend. I have to clean up this pigstye of a house today and I'll need much more coffee & donuts to get going.
(Oh, and Hello Gramva, I don't think I've actually introduced myself...I'm quite shy really)

Given the fact that Pokey and TG are both 3rd shifters and are probably asleep I don't think that they will mind if I tell you that yes they are nurses. It is so strange because if you look around the forum you will see that there are many nurses here :) There are 2 more nurses that hang out with us but for some reason don't post much anymore :( At one point I thought that it was a conspiracy of nurses to take ECF over :)

Now as most of us know, nurses are not all created equal :) I can tell you that if you ever end up being in the hospital you could only hope to have nurses as good as Pokey and TG :) You would be in very good, compassionate hands for sure :)

Awww, that's sweet Salem :) You said it just like we rehearsed ;)

You nurses are some of my favorite peeps. It's a job I could never do, what with my overactive gag & vomit reflex and all...
And back when I was a smoker, the closet smoker nurses who helped me find a place to puff when I was visiting relatives at MD Andrsn in Houston...well they have a huge place in my heart!!

Nice to meet you Techno: And I hear ya.....my husband came in with a bloody leg from accidently trimming himself instead of the bushes yesterday and my stomach was flip floppin' for a couple of minutes. The gag reflex was all set to go off. So, me neither for nursing.....but love those who can and do.

I am sure they were delighted to walk down with you...having been that nurse many times, it was always a welcome excuse to escape and indulge my addiction as well.

Besides, at night it is scary and lonesome by the dumpster when smoking alone - the vagabonds of society running loose and wild are altogether too friendly; a sole, tired individual in the dark an easy target. Having company is/was always a good idea.

So true, so true, Pokey. Our hospital implemented a 'smoke-free campus' policy so you had to go completely off hospital grounds for a cigarette. Since I work night shift, it was not unusual for me to be out there at 2 and 3 in the morning. I remember looking behind the brick half-wall I was leaning against to see a homeless person asleep in the bushes8-o. And this area was right beside a city bus stop. No offense meant to any of you who take public transportation, but some unsavory individuals hang out at bus stops! Glad I can sneak into the bathroom for a vape now!!

LOL! I was just going to say that you smoked at the dumpster. Remember when the Egos first came out? I saw another nurse that was using her Ego by the dumpster and I told you to look out for her because you wanted to see an Ego! LOL

They take that crap to the extreme! A few years back my 22 yo nephew sadly passed away at a local hospital. Well as soon as he was taken off the ventilator my husband, another nephew and myself hit the parking lot for a smoke. Low and behold here comes this hulkin huge female security guard telling us to put them out. Hubby told her to just try and make him. BUT walking back into the hospital there was a place that was obviously where the employees smoked littered with cig butts.
I am sure it was a don't ask don't tell thing but harrassing the families of patients in the same parking lot is just so not right! I am still peeved about it in case you can't tell :)

Yeah, there ain't much to compare in life to dumpster smoking -- looking for an elusive Ego or not!
