When my 20-yr-old son is on the phone, he is forever saying "I hear ya". His translation is probably "I can't really say anything because my mom is in the room" :). But an "I hear ya" button could mean, "I see your point, whether or not I agree with you".

My 20something sons are pretty sarcastic. I don't know whom they get it from. When they're on the phone & I'm nearby they say things like "OK, I'll drop off your .... after dinner" ... or "No, we're still waiting for the lab to call with the test results"...
Those are little indications that I need to stop listening in...

Little stinkers indeed. They both play lots of practical jokes, and I pity their wives...
On the other hand, I found out today that my oldest & his lovely Mrs. are going to be providing me with a Christmas Grandson!
Wahoo! It'll be my first actual dna related grandbaby. All my other's are sweethearts, but they're "steps"...which I have to share with other grandmas. (I don't like sharing!)
So - I'm excited!

Techno....Congratulatory hugs are in order here. So happy for you. Your life is going to get better and better. And in only 4 short months. Can't wait to see pics. As others on here say, Photos or it didn't happen. Loving them babies, I am, especially grand babies. There is a reason they are called "grand".

Congratulations tech! I am so excited for you :) I remember the day that my son called to tell me that they would have my first and only grandson. He called me to tell me that he had something to tell me so would I be home in an hour when they got home from Walmart? I hung up the phone and told my husband that they were going to have a baby. My son still wonders how I figure all of that out before he actually tells me. Mothers just know :)

Well, we all know what you are doing Salem. Playing Santa Claus has to be so exciting for you. I wish I was there helping you. (then I could confiscate some of those nice mods for myself...ha ha). Do me a favor, and please include a sheet of paper with a whole bunch of lipstick covered kissing imprints from us.

Sadly my moms health is not great so I have to take time with her when she is able to go and do things. She has COPD, Emphysema, Diabetes and at 74 she just can't go like she used to :( She had started vaping with my husband and I and did good for awhile but she got back on the cigs :( Her breathing and stamina was so much better when she was vaping but she is just not going to give up her cigs. Matter of fact, that Peach Buzz that Army Guy has used to be hers :)

It is hard watching a person you love light one of those things up......my daughter still smokes and a couple of my best friends still smoke.....I tried to get them all to switch to vaping, and so far have failed. I guess you just got to keep trying...walking the fine line between being helpful and not being a pain in the ... to them. I hope your mom tries again...I have read threads where the 2nd time was a success.

Be sure & give your mom a big hug for me. I lost my mom 6 years ago, and I really miss her! I see little gray haired ladies at the casino and I just want to hug the heck out of them, but security doesn't seem to like it when you do that to strangers...

I was perusing the random "new posts" the other night and found your army guy thread. I didn't read through all of it, but am I to understand you're sending vaping care packages off to some troops? What a great idea!

TAP TAP TAP...IS THIS THING ON? Where is everybody tonight?

Hey guys I have been researching Whole tobacco alkaloid e-liquid. It seems promising. I have a rough time with depression since stopping the cigs. This might do the trick. If I was a chemist I would be brewing this in the kitchen....

I lost my mom 3 years ago. She wanted me to be by her side. My brothers and I made her transition as pain-free as possible. We were her "hospice".

Sdh - You know what? I hadn't even put 2&2 together but, I have actually been less depressed since I switched to vaping.
I have been angrier though...I just figured I was being more vocal now, when before I would just disappear & have a few cigarettes until I felt better... Now I wish I was a psychiatrist so I could more deeply analyze all this..
Do you have any links to the tobacco alkaloids you're researching? I'd like to read up on that!
(We were hospice for my Mom too. It was wonderful & terrible all at the same time).
