Oh I have been doing research. An aspirin 30 minutes before taking Niacin and taking it at night is supposely a remedy to the flushing. IDK hubs is willing to try that before taking another statin type drug. Tomorrow he has to get a monitor(Chest holter) to wear for 24 hours and then a Echo on Wed.
SC and TV,
I just want to tell you guys how glad that I am you stuck it out for a year. It really is a big deal, and you deserve the celebration. For all the people that I have met, who have come and gone, you guys are still around.
SC, It really amazes me that you are still here after all of T's abuse. I think you need to take your 1 year status, and shove it up his a**! I mean, shake his hand and smile.![]()
Me too! I hate the time changes. I'm not very adaptable. Or so I've been told.I am so sleepy that I can barely keep my eyes open. Wish that I would have had a nap today

Thank you Sdh, It was a grand time. So many kind people made great pictures, and said nice things.TEchno! Congratulations dear! Sorry I missed your turning but I did not forget! (Hugs)
I've used the non-flush niacin and it really works.
I read that is a side effect. Allot of folks will discontinue. I know hubs had taken Niacin in 2000. It was the immediate release and caused him flushing. Theoretically, the extended release helps with no-flushing. I suppose that is why Abbott-the pharmaceutical giants took regular ER-niacin and labeled it with a neat name-Niaspan. Now folks can pay prescription prices for a 5.00 bottle of Niacin ER/SR.She did not get the hot flashes and flushing but she got an extremely bad rash from it.
Hey TT I see you! Hey I seen your photos on "roughing it". I feel so sorry for you! I would be happy in a tent and warm weather.
